  1. Yep, Pressly hasn't improved one bit from last year either.
  2. Anyone wanna explain why Duffey is on the 40-man roster?
  3. He's the flippin 'closer'. Do your GD job. And he hasn't done that in his last 2 save situations.
  4. Why do we waste our time playing these games? Once the schedule comes out, the Twins should just petition the league to allow them to forfeit however many games are to be played at Yankee Stadium and save on travel costs.
  5. That's what happens when you nibble nibble nibble instead of going right at guys. And you can't nibble against the Yankees because they are computer-programmed to not swing at anything outside the strike zone. He gets 2 quick strikes on Stanton and then it's try and get him to chase and he failed. With the exception of Berrios, this is a bad disease that is going through the pitching staff. Hitters are too good nowadays to swing at bad balls.
  6. How about go with your best reliever? Why does a reliever have to have a certain role in a certain inning? Isn't the job to get guys out no matter the inning?
  7. The lefty-lefty BS is so goshdarn overrated yet every manager subscribes to it and has subscribed to it for a generation. There's so much overmanaging involved in today's game thanks to numbers and stupid analytics rather than sticking to the 'feel' of the game. Reed's had a clean and easy 8th inning? Who cares, time to take him out because the book dictates that I have to put my closer in. Lefty pitcher to face a righty with a meaningless base open and a lefty on deck? Walk that batter to face the lefty. Nevermind that Span was loving every second of this opportunity and his speed won the game.
  8. Time for Rodney to be stripped of his closer role.
  9. Why does Zach Duke continue to breathe our air with a Twins uniform on? How do you screw up that fundamental as a veteran? No way they have an angle to conclusively see this on replay.
  10. I know it's probably the percentage play to set up a potential force at 2nd if you need it but do you really want to face the guy that's killed you for most of the game?
  11. At this pitch rate, Lynn will be able to go get warm for the night by the 3rd inning.
  12. Is it too much to ask to have a small birthday present of a Twins win tonite?
  13. Great...back to everyone not being able to get the big hit.
  14. How can Escobar not know where to go on that play?
  15. First mound visit was by catcher and infielders. Second was by the pitching coach. Legal. The pitching change rule only kicks in after the 2nd visit from a coach/manager in an inning or after the 7th mound visit in regulation that doesn't result in a pitching change.
  16. YAYYYYYYYYYYY SOMEONE FINALLY GOT A BIG HIT!!
  17. I went to college just outside of Baltimore. This morning, my alumni association put out a post on social media saying they still had Opening Day tickets for sale. One small problem. I live in Orlando. Very eager to see this first week and how the new additions blend in and how much the returning players have improved.
  18. I was at the game today in Bradenton and saw Kinley throw 3 innings. I was impressed with his stuff but he seemed to lose his edge once he got to his 3rd inning of work. Someone like that with his velocity would be good to have for just an inning or less, especially if he was coupled with (ahead of or following) Hildy and his different arm angles. Since he's a Rule V guy, I would guess we'll see him as part of the bullpen unless we can make a deal for him, right?
  19. A light, healthy snack since it's so late here on the East Coast. Let's keep the winnas comin' tomorrow too!
  20. 6 tons of dirt and clay to build the mound?? Color me educated...
  21. That won't be hitting the top of anything!!! Stay hot, Doz...
  22. That's the 3rd ball I've seen at Target hit the very top of the padding this year off a Twins bat. Instead of moving the fences in, how about just dropping the height a little bit.
  23. Don't underestimate the momentum-crushing power of God Bless America in the 7th inning. If the Twins are winning, they'll break out the opera singer to draw it out as long as possible and try to sap whatever roll Santana is on (or whoever the pitcher is).
