  1. So glad Santana is in the lineup to hit into two double plays. If only there was another option, oh wait what about Miranda.
  2. Margot, true to form, double play ball. Glad he has played 5 games in a row.
  3. Buxton just had four days off, this isn't being cautious. If he can't play put him on the IL. We need him in the lineup and the organization is not going to win anything significant if they don't play their best players.
  4. Did you see his double in the first game, if he was hurt like you say, he would not have even tried to get to second much less make it. This is Rocco overmanaging his players. You need to play your best players especially in these next two series but that won't happen with this hapless organization.
  5. Miranda needs to be in the lineup everyday. Santana can be a defensive replacement. Yes I know he hit a home run today. Look at his monthly splits, he has had one good month and a good day here and there. Not enough to block Miranda.
  6. Because he has been barely league average on defense starting last year.
  7. This love affair with Margot is inexplicable, and don't say he hit so he could stay in the game for defense. Larnach and Wallner are not that inferior to him on defense.
  8. Thank you for the clarification. I am sure the front office would want an extra pitcher up especially with the injuries now.
  9. Is Lee hurt, only have heard from Rocco. Rocco also said Buxton was hurt but would 100% play on Friday and Buxton himself said on Sunday he would be in the lineup on Monday night. And you can only call up one position in September, this isn't the old days where you can call everyone up on the 40 man roster. Edit: Just been reported Lee is headed to the IL, I stand corrected.
  10. It's really not that tough of a decision when you have a player that has not earned his spot on the roster.
  11. Everybody commenting on September callups, remember you can only go to 28 players, so only two additional players can be added. And I believe one has to be a pitcher. So September is not going to solve any supposed roster crunch.
  12. Farmer has done nothing this year to deserve a spot on the 26 man roster. Any other team would have DFA'd him by now even with his contract. He should come back for Martin and DFA'd when Correa comes back.
  13. They need to focus on playing their best players every game with an occasional game off. This is what the winning teams do. Texas had 8 players with over 400 AB's last year and Houston had 6 the year before and they were so wore down at the end of the year they won the World Series. Santana and Castro lead the team in AB's and they are not the best players, they are switch hitters, that is why they lead the team in AB's. Castro has had a good season but should not be leading the team in AB's. Stop overthinking every line up and every match up and put your best players in the lineup and let them play. And if they aren't good enough to win games with, get better players. That should be the goal, not rostering a player because he can hit LH's at a little above league average.
  14. Why is Santana in the lineup over Lewis. Both Lewis and Miranda need to be in the lineup. Play Santana against LH pitching only.
  15. I agree, Santana had one good month and he is preventing Miranda from playing every day. He needs to play against LH pitching only and as a defensive replacement.
  16. He is the Executive Chair, he was the EVP before being elevated to Exec Chair.
  17. Joe Pohlad reports to the board only, DSP and Falvey report to him. Jim is executive chair for baseball purposes, Here is how Joe's role is described per the Pohlad Companies website. "Joe Pohlad is Executive Chair of the Minnesota Twins, providing leadership to all facets of the Twins organization on behalf of the Pohlad Family."
  18. No but we were not going to get a top end piece, so I was hoping for something to help improve the roster. What should the budget be for salary. How much do you think they should spend?
  19. And Falvey was trying to wait everyone out, there were moves he could have made.
  20. Would Falvey have paid the price for top end talent, I am not convinced he would have if given no salary restraints. We needed a LH reliever, Andrew Chafin would have been an upgrade and would have been about $2 million in salary. Are you telling that Joe Pohlad would have said no to that. I am not saying that Joe Pohlad doesn't share in the blame, but I think Falvey could do more as well.
  21. Falvey can still make moves, yes he has cost restraints but there were moves to be made. This can't be laid all at the feet of Joe Pohlad who is now in charge.
  22. Why the Pohlads deserve their share of criticism, it's not like our payroll is at $75 million. Falvey always waits it out whether it is free agency or the trade deadline and then he makes a panic move to say he did something. This front office is very risk averse and needs to take a share of the blame as well. If they lose players to the Rule 5 draft this offseason due to the lack of moves they will look even worse.
  23. He started two games as an opener this year. Has started in the past, he is more of a swingman like Sands,
  24. Last time I looked Blackburn throws from the right side
