  1. Both May and Correia working on shutouts tonight...May's only through 2 innings though. An embarrassment of pitching riches.
  2. No question about it. Now though, car chases seem to be a weekly occurrence here in SoCal...just had another yesterday. They always interrupt TV programming, and I sat there and watched it for an hour yesterday like a moron. God, I miss the Midwest...
  3. I agree, and everybody was watching that day! A good friend of mine here in LA owns the infamous white Bronco that OJ took his joy ride in, and he told me today that CNN ranked that chase as the 6th greatest ever TV moment...5 behind "in the butt, Bob".
  4. Nice easy 1-2-3. I'm just relieved nobody got hurt.
  5. I don't know for sure, but it appears he's lost a step since beating out that grounder to short.
  6. Yeah. You know, in a lifetime of playing amateur baseball, I've never seen a batter hit one off the instep. Just shows how much heavier the pros throw the ball...thank god.
  7. Right...Happ actually was starting to look kinda good out there the last three batters. Tough luck tonight for him.
  8. Mike definitely had one of the all time great nicknames. Jeffrey Leonard's was better though!
  9. This odd, odd game continues. Gritty at bat by Santana though...he's a very pleasant surprise.
  10. Zuke's been so good this year, it's kind of a shock to see him not deliver against Happ. Too bad...really got a fat fastball for strike 1.
  11. And he's a fun guy...like Escobar. Did you see him ribbing Morales for not scoring on his single? Good addition.
  12. Toronto announcers keep teasing some other Cal Poly grad much more famous than KC. Who is it?
  13. You just can't coach the kind of speed Morales showed legging out that grounder to Reyes. I credit Molitor anyway...
  14. Should be easy...Escobar only weighs 175
  15. This game has a really odd feel to it. Compare Cabrera's single off the wall to Escobar's double to the shortstop, for instance.
  16. What terrific instincts by Correia in that grounder...now get Melky!
  17. Trevor May's start in Gwinett tonight is being delayed by rain. That's peculiar...I wasn't aware it rained much in Gwinett in June.
  18. Ha, you're a pessimist, Stringer...I just called it 10-8!
  19. Looks very hittable to me, although he is quite tall for a Peruvian. Twins win 10-8?
  20. Whoops, sorry...I forgot that KC was Portuguese. My bad.
  21. Lots of Dominicans in the lineup, and they all hit the crap out of KC...I don't see him getting through the 4th unfortunately. That first hit was a cannon shot!
  22. I learned a lot of cool new words as a kid from my Grandpa when the Twins would walk the leadoff man in a tie game.
  23. Still lots work to do. but if we could steal a win here, it would really mean something. Great comeback in the 9th started by the new guy, against a good team. But Guerrier needs to be good here...
  24. You spelled "year" wrong. Our #3 hitter has driven in fewer runs per plate appearance than anyone currently with the club...and all of the guys who have been sent down or released... 'cept Florimon
  25. Surprisingly, Gibson's BAA on the road is an relatively good (compared to Ricky) .292, but all 4 of his homers are on the road. Nolasco though is an absolute train wreck on the road.
