  1. Only 57 pitches through 5 innings per Pelf
  2. Good point by you and intramural legend...cost us a run though.
  3. I hate to whine so much about Vavra, but I agree with them. Strikeout hitter on deck, and like they said, it would have taken two perfect throws to get him. I'm concerned about Vavra's judgment.
  4. If he continues to hit game winning triples, he can wear whatever he wants.
  5. Good question...seems to be at least as fast as last year, which would be good for first start. I love his location too...not afraid at all to work inside.
  6. Ouch, good observation...or bad I guess. Don't worry about our speed. Vavra will get the boys home!
  7. Come on Arcia...lose the facemask. It's 53 degrees!
  8. Put it on the list for sure. The history is overwhelming at times. Israel is a little scary with everyone on edge, but I felt safer in Egypt than I do in LA, and there are NO tourists there now. What an experience to be at the pyramids for a couple hours by myself!
  9. Gladdy must be back on the sauce. Sending the catcher home when the active player with the highest career batting average is in the on deck circle. There's aggressive, and there's dumb...and Dan missed the category this one fell into.
  10. It is good. I was lucky to spend a day and night camping in January in the Jordanian desert Wadi Rum where they filmed the move. Stunning! And Lawrence is still a god in the minds of the Bedouins.
  11. That's really abstract...but funny!
  12. I think #6 is my biggest takeaway...weather was terrible. For example, I don't think Glen Perkins tops out at 91 now. But I also agree with many of the posts here and am optimistic about improvement in Plouffe, Hicks and Arcia. Man, did Arcia's balls to CF carry...he's a strong man! I also enjoy his fiery attitude...loved the spontaneous celebration at 3b...although I don't know if Gardy does. At the and of the year when we do our postmortem, I think we will say this: We both hit and pitched better this year, and improved to be a .500 ballclub. Now we need the phenoms to put us over the top.
  13. So......Gardy still has a chance of getting to 1000 wins, right? (I was starting to worry a little...)
  14. Ouch! That's kinda like thinking you have a game won in the 9th only to...never mind.
  15. In more positive news, I found a 20 dollar bill in my pants pocket today.
  16. Perhaps Perk should spend more time working on his breaking ball, and less time punking Pelfrey...doesn't seem quite so funny now.
  17. When I saw your thread title, one name immediately came to me, and I thought to myself no one would have him. But you picked my guy. Pelfrey is my favorite guy on the team...just seems to have a great personality. As a guy who has played ball his whole life (still playing at 63!), I still get a little nervous when I watch very tall and somewhat wild right handers on the mound, and I suspect a lot of hitters don't like to dig in against him. I think he is poised for a big year, now that he is recovered from TJ surgery. I also love watching Deduno pitch.
  18. I'm not saying I want Kubel to DH...I'd like to see Pinto in the lineup everyday. But it was painful for Gardy to not start his boy Kubes today (even had to justify it by saying Sales was "filthy"), so he's a lock for Wednesday against the righty.
  19. No way Kubel doesn't DH against Paulino
  20. Stoney just said that Lindstrom is looking for his first save of the year. Wow, sounds like he's really been struggling.
  21. Suzuki on pace for 486 RBIs this year...I say he does it.
  22. Steve Stone is the dullest TV announcer of all time. I'm having a difficult time staying awake. Although I did just get revived a little when he said Jason Kubel was one of the fastest guys in the Twins organization before he hurt his knee. What??????
  23. No question about it...always get the out, unless it's the winning run and you're certain you can't get him. Man, that was a heck of a catch by Florimon. Really closed on it well with the wind blowing.
  24. I'm watching the game on MLB Extra Innings, so I have the Sox feed. He annoys me sometimes, but I'm one of the few that actually likes Hawk Harrelson. He has a unique style, does his homework, and always has nice things to say about our club.
  25. Willingham now has 11 K's in 18 ABs against Sale. Nice to see Colabello pull a ball...first hit of the year!
