  1. Generic game thread intro 132 Weather is well, okay, i hope. (Yeah, 78F, Partly cloudy says the line up site) Line ups are cloudy with a chance of lightning strikes and thundering booms. Here's the fine print. Judge for yerselves... Twins Ervin Santana {R} toes the rubber. 1. Aaron Hicks {S} CF 2. Eduardo Nunez {R} 2B 3. Joe Mauer {L} 1B 4. Miguel Sano {R} DH 5. Trevor Plouffe {R} 3B 6. Eddie Rosario {L} RF 7. Shane Robinson {R} LF 8. Kurt Suzuki {R} C 9. Danny Santana {S} SS Angels Garrett Richards {R} toes the rubber. 1. Johnny Giavotella {R} 2B 2. Kole Calhoun {L} RF 3. Mike Trout {R} CF 4. Albert Pujols {R} DH 5. Erick Aybar {S} SS 6. C.J. Cron {R} 1B 7. Matt Joyce {L} LF 8. Carlos Perez {R} C 9. Taylor Featherston {R} 3B 0: Will we play? I expect so. As the saying goes, god willing. 1: Will we win? Yes. Maybe. Outlook cloudy. Ask again later. You can always count on a magic 8 ball parody for um, something. Someone's gotta win. Might as well be us. 2: Will we pitch? Odds are we will. Santana is coming off a pretty good showing in Oakland. And if we need 'em, our bullpen does have a way of coming through more often than not. It's just the nots that everyone remembers. Perkins is well rested too, i think. Time to get him back in the saddle, to mix metaphors. Or if we're not in the ideal position. He can even get in the saddle lite. So long as he ain't involved with any moon shots. 2b: Will we field? Well enough. But just for the gripers, i'm sure there will be something to complain about. 3: Will we hit? I hope so. This is kinda the contra-positive of question 2, because it's the opposite of the symmetrical question that is implied there: will they pitch? But the answer is different, 'cause it can get split up between 9 plus batters. The battery, as it were. I hope it's a 9 volt line up, though i couldn't say who will lead the charge. 3b: Will we run? "First chance we get!" -#6... I think Molitor makes sure it's meaningful, But yeah, controlled aggression is a useful tool. 4: Will we bunt? That should have been my leading question, and by all means, it is a loaded one. I'll bring the ten foot polls for anyone willing to touch it. 5: Thank goodness the road trip is over. It wasn't long, but golly it wasn't short. One would think, bein' the Twins, they'd deal well with such trip-lets... 5b: Be prepared. Shelter, sustenance, comfort, company. If they are easier to arrange before the game starts, while your not distracted. 5c: Pretzels. Do they make sheep-shank ones? Personally, i'd like a bowline one. 5d: Parenthetical are not just for parents. Enjoy the game! I may miss the first chunk, which is why i thought it worthwhile to remind you to prepare yourself. No, 5b was not a Tom Lehrer reference.
  2. I'm good with the walk. A 3 run solo homer is a contradiction in terms. Plouffe got creative, and yeah, i think he wanted it further down the line. I'm okay, if he learns and succeeds with the ploy later... Anyway, there will be other games. For some reason, I'm used to west coast games always being tough, even against down teams.
  3. Oh well. No runs again. At least there were base runners, so more batters get a whack at it in the 9th. Hunter, it's mentorin' time. Or the fork, if you prefer. Bottom of the 8, 5-2 Angels...
  4. Rosario doubles over the left fileder's head! Good start...
  5. Rosario guns down the runner on the wanna be sacfly to end the inning. (I think my favorite of semi-common double plays) We ain't out o' it yet!
  6. May takes Pelfrey's spot on the mound. Let's vulture him something...
  7. That was something a of a take to get the walk! Well done, Sano! Plouffe's turn...
  8. A reviewed pick off gets the out. Called a swing on a high fastball gets another. Good recovery there by Mauer and we is out of the inning! Now how do we awaken them slumberin' bats again?
  9. Was that good Pelfrey pitching or bad Angel bunting? 0-2, so hopefully he don't bunt again.
  10. CBU 4-2 entering 6. Angels brought in a triple that Hicks slipped as he got (close) to it. Woulda been a touch catch though. Alright Twins, show me... a crooked number! Primes work, but i'm not opposed to composites.
  11. Division perhaps? Oh, i like Pelfrey's brush you back teeth level fastball. Gotta keep 'em honest. Hope it doesn't backfire one of these days though...
  12. Hope you get all gassed up tomorrow! (i suppose that coulda come out a little better) And sorry for apparently repeating everyone. I wish i could say i was adding emphasis, but i didn't even accomplish that. Oh well. When it snows, it drifts...
  13. Oh well. Hicks slips just before getting to the ball... When it rains, it pours, even in sunny Cal...
  14. Oh well. Maybe next time... Hicks is doin' pretty good for himself, though. And i liked Fryer's patience.
  15. Drive safely! No worries if ya don't make it to the end of the game then.
  16. Even better. Dozier advances them yet again, in fact he plates 'em! 2-1 us.
  17. Well done! Advancing the runners... without an out.
  18. Now slightly higher. We could get back into this thing w/ 2 on...
  19. Ah yes. The line must be drawn somewhere. You lost me with the nose piercings though. Do sharp objects normally travel through you living room that otherwise you'd avoid? Alright... 1-0 on a solo dinger (after a double play, making it doubly meaningful) entering 3rd (CBU)
  20. Is there anything wrong with sleeping on the couch? Or moving the tv/computer into the bed room? Oh yeah, CBU, 0-0 entering the second. Dozier ripped a foul in his first strike out...
  21. That's right! I remember that throw. Shoulda been a double play, but Gibson saw no one was at second as he threw it, so he took something off of it to keep it from going into center. Escobar crossed the bag and came off to catch it, but the runner slid in safely, and the batter beat it out, so no outs, just a fielder's choice...
