  1. Recipe for a good game thread. 1. A good game. I suppose that is subjective, and not entirely vital, but it helps. It needs to anticipation, excitement, and unifying events that we can all appreciate. Twins would like to notch another game like 2 nights ago, or even last night under their belt. Orioles, not so much. But that should make it interesting. 2. Pitchers. Belly itching doesn't go over so well. Gibson with his sinker, double play induction, and surprise strike outs, he should be worth the watch. Tillman, i know less about. But he's in the major leagues so he can't be that bad. (little help here) 3. Batters. Not the kind for cake. The kind what swing, or not, as the case may be and hit and bunt and scratch and duck and dodge, anything to get on the base, or at least advance and score those already there. We ain't been doin' so bad in that regard of late. The Orioles' rep is that they got power. If there shortstop is an indication, i remember bein' excited for that. The list of particular players i'm excited for shall be at the bottom of this intro... 4. Fielding/Running (as they occur concurrently, i list 'em as such) and i've been pleased of late that our running has beaten out their fielding on some surprising points, even crucial points. And occasionally it's gone the other way too (though if Torii had come up with that dive last night, i'da hit the roof. But maybe i just have a low roof) 5. Y'all. Good company makes everything better. Unilaterally. And i'm always glad for the company. So everyone, stay alert and involved in that there game! Nothing will hit the fan. Not on my watch! Er... preparation, cooking? The game can be appreciated raw, and so i'm happy with it. But to each our own. Some nice weather: Gametime Forecast: 80°F • Clear • 0% PoP Twins: 0. Kyle Gibson {R} P 1. 2. E...B.a.G...O... Could be a good road trip, after all?
  3. 3 Ks for Jepsen. As expected.
  4. Alright Jepsen... All the chips are down. The cliches stretched. It is time to get 3 outs. If must indulge in Perkinsesc drama, I won't object, but i'm sure we'd all appreciate clean work...
  5. Oh right. We get to bat again! Well no one's gonna catch Sano Sanoozin'...
  6. Yup. Leave no holes for their toes!
  7. Meh, less breathing room. But of course, we don't need to breath for the next inning and a half, do we? (Oh yeah, 4-3 Twins lead again, for ye of the CBU persuasion)
  8. I too desire to see your mojo, Joe... Joe!
  9. This inning is classic! It reminds me of old theater shirts with a claim to the effect of "we've been doing so much with so little for so long we can practically do anything with nothing."
  10. Alert are the baserunners. We got us a lead... Now it's back on the pen's shoulders. I'm sure the pen is up to it!
  11. Chalk one up to Fien. Now the batters gotta do their share...
  12. Circus Boy Update: There seem to be a lack of Circus Boy Updates. Is this because the Lefties are crafty? (ala the 80's Beastie boys song) So nothing is happening? Or because we have been negligent about updating? Er... I should keep my mouth shut... A runners at corners dinger Puts the 0's up 3-1 in the 6th...
  13. Hey, Hunter's on second too. He didn't slide...
  14. Just glad he's safe. (And he didn't do a cannon ball)
  15. I guess he can tell me them too... I just like quoting popular movies if they seem apropo. Does that make me odd? If it doesn't, i'm sure there's plenty of other things that might. Does that make us even?
  16. Parallax is a cruel... something or other. I am never sure i do the geometry right to account for it either...
  17. I stand corrected. I'd be hard pressed to mistake a chicken for a turkey, i think. Or a chicken hawk. No matter what Foghorn Leghorn would say... But in the form of dinnah, well, i've been told many things taste like chicken.
  18. Concur. Yeah, i suppose crows, but if you told me it was a raven, i'd not be on solid ground to dispute. Likewise owls... Or ducks, geese, etc. I take that back. I bet i'd hold to my guns if i heard a loon and someone disputed it with me. Loony, that's it. Not gonna confuse the state bird.
  19. Make it rhyme, and your in business... Like um... "As down to sleep i setcha. How much should i betcha the boogie man won't getcha?"
  20. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.
  21. Priceless art for free, eh? Wonder if there are any birds that do Dali work...
