  1. No longer averaging a run per inning... Alas.
  2. You got to watch the movie at least, right? It's a pretty good movie, with the Grand Tetons as a backdrop, no? Made my pa's list of top westerns.
  3. Is it to early to acknowledge the expert antijinx?
  4. Rosario with the bases empty sac fly.
  5. Now the Royals are behind that pace. I can live with that.
  6. Dozier on second... Does that make it a double?
  7. Perfectly symmetric violence never solved anything...
  8. Something vaguely familiar about that turn of events...
  9. Concur. I really like the fact it was all the way around. Though in kickball, wouldn't he be out?
  10. Runner on 3rd. What do we do now?
  11. Rosario is batting in front of Buxton... Hopefully that will tempt the Royals to put Rosario on just to slow him down.
  12. "Hit 'em where they ain't" aka. Potpourri intro... 1. Waiting is not the hardest part. Leastwise as mentioned in the song. I think the tip of the needle that plays the record to broadcast the song which excites one to dance... or at least listen, then scratch your head and mumble something about the needle probably having a diamond in it, which wins hands down most hardness contests... Principly scratching without being scratched. 2. AKA is a TLA, aka a three letter acronym, standing for Also Known As. 3. Safety Last. A fine silent movie starring Harold Lloyd and a building. Perhaps referencing the general importance of safety as a general consideration, usually expressed as "safety first" That's right. Who is safe now. Anyway, first and last are not mutually exclusive. It could mean there is only one. And "There can be only one" is also phrase used in another somewhat more competitive movie. Er, but i had a real point... Hope everyone is weathering the storms and fires and cats and dogs living together. We sure are living in interesting times, i should say. 4. I was just thinking i once polled friends for fictional camels, and got a rather interesting cross section of camel characters. I think i did the same thing with tortoises. Both times i was impressed with the wide backgrounds my friends have. I wonder if y'all would like to surprise me a little bit more. Both are animals suited to the long haul, after a fashion. 5. is right out. Which is how i hope we hit the ball today! Like the Twins last night, i finally got around to saying something about baseball! Twins Ervin Santana (R ) 1. Brian Dozier (R ) 2B 2. Joe Mauer (L) 1B 3. Jorge Polanco (S) SS 4. 13. Wait... The game isn't over? I thought we had established a KC protocol... Somehow i like this way better!
  14. One run deficit. To the Royals. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something vaguely familiar about this scenerio...
  15. I bet the one on the left can throw a mean sinker...
  16. No, i have not seen that crazy movie. Alas. I am uncultured...
  17. I like conceiving of these types of plans almost as much as listening to them. The "let's tug an iceberg to the tropics" sorts of plans. Akin to "if we all jump at noon, maybe we can knock the the earth into afurther orbit to counter act global warming" kinda of plans, they probably are not yet practical... But when one is, boy will it be exciting!
  18. I am proud of my friends who are now updating me on the Red Sox game. It just ended after 19 innings. The story goes on of how he knows and it is a good 2-3 minutes worth of story, and finally someone asked who won...
  19. And there was much rejoicing! Er... to be complete: 1. Brian Dozier ( R) 2B 2. Joe Mauer (L) 1B 3. Jorge Polanco (S) SS 4. Eddie Rosario (L) LF 5. Byron Buxton ( R) CF 6. Max Kepler (L) RF 7. 20. I hope we win! Oh and Mr. Dastardly, i wanna second Mr. Chief's kudos. Your really have your way with words. Don't think for a moment that it goes unappreciated here. It doesn't! Oh, and Dickens was this prolific 19th century author. He wrote a bunch, and i bet one or two of his works occasionally appear on English class summer reading lists. So thanks for being educational as well!
  21. Well... 1 run it was... So it goes.
  22. Vargas breaks his bat again. I don't mind so much this time.
  23. Recent series has set very strict expectations to meet.
