  1. Send him out for the ninth, unless we score at least four. And maybe even then.
  2. It surprised me, too, so I looked it up. My main point is to remind us that there’s usually something underneath a move that’s contrarian. Heck — we don’t even know if Kirilloff tweaked a hammy or something.
  3. Brown OPS vs. righties = .839 Brown OPS vs. lefties = .728
  4. He’s exactly the person to use. I like having him available to follow Ryan, but this is essentially a piggy-back situation as well.
  5. A.J.: “Here’s the final point I’m going to make on the sweeper.” I doubt it.
  6. Only two guys have more than 450 plate appearances, so that’s a factor.
  7. Not quite as big of a mountain as Saturday. I’d say it’s about 80 percent as big, but I’d get accused of doing math.
  8. Reasonably hard shot down the line. Originally called a hit, but then changed to an error. EDIT to add: You pretty much just saw the replay, except that AK got a glove on it last time.
  9. Prof: “I’m going to get to class early, so I can angle my computer away from the students.”
  10. Very few sporting events are more beautiful than the start of a cross country meet, particularly a big meet on a scenic fall morning with the leaves turning. Haven’t been to a meet in 10 years or more, but it’s a sight that will never leave my mind’s eye.
  11. To clarify, if Buxton indeed gets hurt in game #1, they do have the ability to replace him (with commissioner approval, I believe). Doing so would mean that he would have to be inactive for the next series as well. (And this isn't advocating for including Buxton, just clarifying a rule.)
  12. I'm pretty sure it was Wainwright who asked about the vest. I'll give him more of a pass than I would have Amin or AJ. I thought Wainwright added more beneficial pitcher's perspective than I usually get in a broadcast (other than Steve Stone, whose been at it a long time).
  13. So the A.J. trade was even better than I thought!
  14. Attributed to Billie Jean King and the title of her autobiography. Also available on t-shirts, hoodies, motivational signs and pop sockets for your phone.
  15. I thought the same. I did appreciate that Altuve was only on first after his at bat, compared to Saturday night's leadoff experience.
  16. If Correa's food includes Lucky Charms, it's magically delicious! And it seems like those Lucky Charms (and probably the tear) have indeed improved the plantar fasciitis.
  17. Lopez threw three pitches with two runners on base: Strike 1 (foul). Strike 2 (called). Strike 3 (swinging). And then Mr. McCormick returned to the dugout. (Those were also the only three pitches he threw with a runner on third.)
  18. Really? Max's parents are ballerinas? Who knew?
  19. Heck, let's not even let their No. 9 hitter hit.
  20. I like not showing them the highest-leverage guys.
