  1. On the same general note of being afraid of the yankees, why wasn't Gardner on his backside on the first pitch of his AB after the home run? He was overly dramatic getting out of the way of a high tight pitch that was obviously an accident since Santana wasn't within 18" of his spot on most pitches. That plus hiis little bat flip and stare down should've warranted a deliberate brush back next time.
  2. From the current CBA, pretty clear Mauer can't take much of a pay cut on any extension.
  3. Idk, the salary issue was brought in 2013 when Morneau wanted an extension, not sure if it's still an issue or what the percentage limit was back then
  4. For an extension that is less pay than the current contract doesn't mlb require the extension to be within a certain percentage of current pay?
  5. Didn't know what to think about Castro so I asked Ozzie Guillen. He mumbled something like 'people keep trying to get rid of Castro but that ****er is still there'
  6. Greg Harris, first guy to pitch with both arms in one game.
  7. How many times did the Yankees bunt last night? More than the Twins no?
  8. Except for the game against Cincinnati a few yrs back where a Mauer double followed by a willingham dinger gave chapman his first BS for that yr.
  9. If the Favre comparison is perfect then Kaepernick must have been loved in San Fran, he was "their guy" right? Oh but he was drummed out of town there, some love... Do you have a valid comparison involving a player who was reviled nationwide for his politics and judgement on displaying those views suddenly becoming loved in a new city?
  10. Well it's 72% not 70 since we're being accurate and all. False comparisons with MLK are irrelevant, as they are with Favre. I hated Favre because he was an effing packer not because of any attention seeking political crap, once he was not a packer we were good lol. Funny that you don't think people would stop cheering the team over a player they hate but then you tell an anecdote about you yourself did just that. No you probably weren't the only one.
  11. Signing the most disliked player in the NFL, a guy that 70% of Americans dislike* is not a sound business decision. *actual poll, CBS sports
  12. Indeed and just to be more clear do you realize that line is still better than the combined line by Gee, Melville, Enns and Slegers in 6 starts since with 22.2 IP and 29 ER. Garcia is not the first guy to wilt in NY I do believe his line would have been slightly better here.
  13. Yes soft, aquire a serviceable back end starter who couldve contributed a few more wins and then panic and trade him for two powerball tickets. Oh sorry I meant can't miss prospects that will someday arrive to help the future immaculate team that goes 162-0 and makes a deep playoff run. Normally dumpster diving to grab a player with numbers like colon had is not an act of genius. Somehow he's found a way to contribute but he ain't leading this team on a playoff run. Somehow I can't agree trading an effective closer for a wad of cash is a genius move either. So kinzler would've left after this year anyway, in the mean time we wouldn't have Matt freakin belisle attempting to close out games. Strange that a "top reliever" is a guy who just made his debut...
  14. This season has been and is fun, in spite of how the new dynamic duo went soft in July.
  15. Handled poorly is an understatement here, Doug can obvious do the job as manager better than most. So is this change for the sake of change? Falvey and Levine seem less and less like wiz kids everyday and more like a couple arrogant chumps.
  16. Speaking of second baseman, Luis Rivas
  17. Pat Meares, started at short for several yrs
  18. Bob Tewksbury, only memory I have of him is Mark McGuire falling down swing and missing at a 55mph ephus pitch.
  19. Dave Hollins, 7 hr in April then struggled with diabetes, lost his power and traded to Seattle for David Arias. Arias changed his name to Ortiz a year or two later and became fairly well known lol
  20. Scott klingenbeck, couldn't afford Scott Erikson so we got budget Scott instead
  21. Rich Robertson, memory says he shutout the white sox twice to end the 95 season Frankie Rodriguez Matt Walbeck
  22. Jaime Garcia is no Greg Maddux but he was better than Turdley/Jorge/Wilk/Tepesch/and the non April '17 Santiago. Kintzler did blow his share of games but still a better option than Belisle. OTH we got another great prospect for that future team that might be in contention someday.
  23. Draw false comparisons much?
  24. Is that latest article a joke? Levine threw in the towel way too fast when he unloaded Garcia and Kinsler for two powerball tickets and a bag of chips, way too late to do anything meaningful now. Don't insult my intelligence by pretending otherwise. If this team stumbles into the playoffs somehow it will be in spite on Levine not due to him.
