  1. Do you think an analytics department costs a lot? That's really the only increase in costs that you've listed.
  2. I'm not suggesting they're making draft choices. What I am suggesting is that if you are a GM who was told that their top priority is profits and not a championship, that's influence enough. It's just a theory, but all of the signings and moves made since the sons took over make a lot more sense from a profitability view than they do if you're looking to build a championship team
  3. None of the Twins moves make much sense under the premise that the Pohlads want the Twins to win an eventual World Series. I've been convinced by a friend that this is a flawed premise. If you view Twins moves with the premise that the Pohlads want to have a profitable season, all the moves make perfect sense.
  4. Yeah! Plus what is Mauer doing to fix global warming? It's earth day and he hasn't done Jack to lower or carbon footprint!!
  5. The sound quality is back! Way to go babygirl!! Also my personal theory is that Bartlett and Kubel are there to provide leadership, not bats.
  6. Kyle Gibson is going to end the season with most wins of any twins starting pitchers.
  7. To be clear, if someone thinks that players are overpaid in general, that is an opinion that has merit. I think that anyone who thinks now that Mauer is making 23MM a year that he should now hit more Homeruns, that is silly. Joe's salary was driven by the market and he for the most part has kept his numbers up.
  8. I don't know if this was mentioned earlier but ruesse never once mentioned money. He only talked about talent. People who do criticize mauer because of his salary are just silly. He will very likely produce numbers to justify his d salary. But where I think people are correct is his apparent lack of team leadership. Mauer is the best player on a bad team(he'd be the best player on a good team as well) like it or not it is natural to have an expectation for the best player to lead the lesser talent players. Is it unfair? I don't think so. This is more of a team sport than most spurs. I think we'd love to hear stories of Joe engaging and inspiring the other players. With talent comes responsibility.
  9. I think you're awesome
  10. Colabello has been a fun story to watch! Plus he didn't stink in right field last night! Thanks for the article Mr Bonnes!
  11. Nobody expects that!! For some weird reason,a majority of the games I went to last year had Correia starting. I always felt that he was more lucky than talented. Hopefully he'll be very very lucky this season!
  12. Hey moderators and others I'm checking in here as requested. I'm a twins fan and a huge homer! My other interests include buying powerball tickets and looking for Bigfoot. I hope I find some kindred spirits
