  2. Inge = better than Valencia in so many ways -- better hitter, better defensively, better in the clubhouse, better tats, better, better, better - pull the trigger on this now and get Danny-boy outa here!
  3. Then whose is it????????????? They fiddled wile the FA market burned, and now it's time to pay the piper - trouble is, there is NO ONE available, and NO help in the minors - they were all here last year, and the result??? - 99-63!!!
  4. Like him - . . . - he's funny too - like - When Denard Span made a shoe-string catch in short center - TK - "That's a baseball play, that baseball players make!"
  5. Bring up DOZIER - like NOW! Handwriting is on the wall - Here's a call for you - Dozier will be here with in 10 days - that's by May 1st -
  6. Very hard to know what the problem is - he's such a head case - my solution is to deal him - or put him in the pen. He's not going to be here next year, then let's get something for him.
  7. Patience my friends - Morneau is struggling because of his adjustment to being a full time DH, and Joe? . . . Well, he's just too nice to hit that ball! I would really like to see Mauer go on a Pavano-like tear in the dugout - like to see him yell, hit stuff with a bat, slam his glove, throw his mask, helmet, bat - geez - anything than more of this flat-line no emotion, All-American Boy image that he gives off. Agree with PGTwinsfan - this lineup will look far different in August - Goodbye Liriano and Pavs, so long Morney (heading to the Yanks), Baker will look much different in a White Sox uni, and Denard will find somewhere, too. Twins will be full of TR's "reclamation baseball players, and begin the draft refueling process that will enhance the minor leagues. I still think this year's group will win 80, but I might be really sweating it down the stretch!
  8. I like it!!! I have not been a Pavano/Baker/Liriano/Blackburn/Duensing/latest guy to be "stretched out" guy for a long time. True Pavs eats innings, and also true Baker has had flashes of being a MLB pitcher - but for the most part, this bunch has been tender, unreliable. and average. Twins would do well to sign Greinke, and build around him with Hendricks, Wimmers and Gibson. Finally a stopper, and some arms that have that good gas at 92-95 mph. Oh - and while we are at it, maybe a 3rd baser coach who actually understands baseball and the art of baserunning. That will eliminate Liddle and Ulger right there - I'm thinking maybe Molitor or the Dazzle Man - in a "grooming them for the manager's position" mode.
  9. The GOOD thing about Tuesday, April 10th? The Twins DIDN'T lose a game!
  10. I am a Twins fan - 10 all the way! However: I reserve the right to question, disagree, be stunned with, agree with and talk about - all decisions made by the GM, the Manager (especially the Manager!!!), and the entire Front Office. I also reserve the right to: Be a "Homer", enthusiastically and irrationally cheer for and wildly support the Minnesota Twins!
  11. Great! Congrats! Just hope the "Bigs" don't compromise the spontaneity of the weekly podcasts - I have become addicted! (Well, maybe addicted is a bit strong.)
  12. OK - I'll play - Here's mine: - Morneau appears in less than 30 games, - Twins win 80 games, - Nishi "disappears" and is never again seen in the bigs, - Perkins start his role as closer in mid May, - Mauer hits 27 homers, - all of them in the 2012 season! - Gardy is sidelined by a health issue
  13. Great job guys - . . . and if you haven't listened to the Gleeman & the Geek pods, you really oughta! Great posts+great management=35,000 and counting!
  14. Good to see that the Twins are making hard decisions - I also hope that they will look at escaping their obligations to Nishi any way they can - ie., selling his contract to a Japanese team, if that is a possibility. You can't teach "good hands", and isn't he a bit old to teach fundamental infield play and position responsibilities? Also like Dozier a lot! If Carroll is going to display Butera-like ability at the plate, give the SS job to him - like, NOW!
  15. .270/.325/.425, 10 HR, 50 RBI first basemen are a dime a dozen! That's a position that needs some pop - I'd say 40/60 he doesn't complete the season. So now we start the AAA parade, and again look at <80 games in the W column. We now have 20-30 max homers coming from our 1B and Catcher. That leaves, . . . well, we might get - Um, . . . Ahhhh,
  16. I have stated my case against Butera and in favor of Towles, so I'm good there. I hope, but give no chance for, the Twins realizing the error of Nishi, and doing their best to cut their losses with him. Disappointing to see them make the trip North with the sameo-sameo- starting rotation. There's a saying - If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got! Fitting for my expectations from that corp of pitchers. Isn't there a way to package some of their relievers (read here Swarzak, Manship, Duensing, or a combination of them), and get a good one? 'Course, there needs to be a good available, and I'm lost for that answer - they have already missed that boat!
  17. I posted this yesterday - but it fits here so: Geez - relax people - it's Spring Training! OK - So here is my problem with Drew Butera as the 3rd catcher- Traditionally you get your power numbers from the outfield corners, the infield corners and the catcher. Consider this: Late in the game, Twins down and need a boost - you look down the bench for a hitter, and who is there? Luke Hughes - maybe a 12-15 homer per season guy, Tsuyoshi Nishioka - maybe a 1-2 homer per season guy, and Drew Butera!!!!! Maybe a 0 homer, .177 BA, .190 OBP guy! We just have to stop giving up the power positions for Gardy's irrational fear of being withpout a DH. Or, at least carry someone who can hit their weight! BTW - Love your podcasts!

  19. Why would you just walk off the mound, if you are not injured?
