  1. The play is at home, Joe!
  2. He swung at a bad pitch for strike 3. He needs to lay off of those.
  3. 78 pitches through 3 innings, Morrow will be lucky if he makes it to the 5th inning.
  4. If Colabello keeps hitting to the right side of the field, teams are going to have to play the shift to the right. Speaking of which, does anybody know if a team has ever played a shift to a players off field?
  5. Ladies and gentleman, defensively, our middle infield is awesome! I love watching these guys play.
  6. Morrow is at 58 pitches after 2 innings. This is looking good so far.
  7. Turns out Florimon is a rally starter, not a rally killer! Nice hit Joe!
  8. Dozier needs to drive Florimon in here..
  9. Pedro with a Pete Barbeauty! He must have been reading Twins Daily before the game!
  10. Morrow threw 28 pitches in the first inning alone. So as long as Hughes keeps a 0 on the board, it's all good.
  11. The Jays in general are looking cold.
  12. I like the way Colabello crushes the ball off field!
  13. Plouffe has actually been playing pretty good defensively so far this year. I really have no complaints at all. I know there was one ball that got under his glove, but that's just a range thing and Florimon did his job and backed him up. I'm actually quite comfortable with the Twins infield at the moment.
  14. I'm not disagreeing. I like what Dozier brings to the table. You and Brock can argue with me until you're blue in the face, but .191 will still be below the mendoza line and below average no matter how much you try and convince yourselves otherwise. Anyways, I have a Twins game to watch, cheers.
  15. Dozier is a pretty good hitter. I'm not worried about him.
  16. Yep, as long as he keeps batting poorly, he'll continue having poor numbers at the plate. That goes without saying..
  17. Nobody is disagreeing that a .067 AVG is terrible. It is absolutely unacceptable at any level of baseball. However, it's April 15th, the Twins are playing .500 and people are panicking.
  18. .191 is still below the mendoza line and below average. I"m just stating facts.
  19. If you want to talk about bad form and painting pictures, then at least admit that Florimon's poor numbers are due to both hitting gloves and too many strike outs. It's not one or the other, it's a combination of the two, lets just be honest with ourselves here.
  20. Dozier is hitting below the mendoza line this year (.191). Those are not "above average" numbers.
  21. A rally killer? Are you aware that last game, bottom of the 8th, Twins down 1. Florimon walks, steals second, then scores the tying run? Sounds like a gamer to me. The problem is, people look at stats, but they don't actually watch the games. People who watch the games would know that Florimon is playing with confidence and is battling at the plate, even if balls aren't missing gloves.
  22. Here's what you're going to get if you replace Florimon with Nunez. Defensively, you'll go from one of the best (Florimon saved 12 runs last year, tied for 2nd in the MLB) to one of the worst (Nunez was responsible for -28 runs last year, while only playing 60% of the innings that Florimon did. That's really bad.), in exchange for a batting average of .262. Is it worth it? That's not for me to decide. In the big picture, the Twins are .500 and scoring runs, so there's no point in panicking or losing sleep over it. If it makes anyone feel any better, based on the eye test, he looks as sharp as I've ever seen him. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a better year defensively over last year. And obviously Pedro hitting .067 just isn't acceptable either. He's going to have to start hitting soon. To answer the OP's question, i'd like Florimon to take a step forward. At minimum I'd like to see him hit .240+AVG .290+OBP, 675+OPS with 10+hr's and 20+ stolen bases. Oh and I'd like to see his strike out ratio go down as well. I want to see the guy battle up there and be a tougher out.
  23. Do you want to know how bad at defense? Florimon - Tied for 2nd in the MLB last year with 12 runs saved (1099.6 innings) Nunez - Last in MLB -28 runs saved (608.3 innings)
  24. If Nunez replaces Florimon sooner rather than later, I would understand. .067 is a huge step back from .221, not to mention the strike out ratio isn't going the way I was hoping.
  25. There are lots of good people in Minnesota. I always have pleasant experiences whenever I am there, which is probably one of reasons why I like going back whenever I get a chance.
