  1. Quiet please. Game's started.
  2. I caught, too. Especially after getting a tutorial from Bill Freehan shortly after moving to Flint, Mich. when I was 11. Being the murder capital and all, the city's motto was "Where every day is a near-death experience."
  3. Agree! The rubber band lives another day.
  4. Good grief. My wife and your wife are the same woman!
  5. Oh, I mentioned the Lakota name thing a game or two ago, and given how DickBert repeat themselves, I thought maybe if I brought up this again it would be noticed and I'd be in the booth someday. Like, repeating things. Good grief, I suck.
  6. Forgot: It's also Beautiful Sugar Water, but I'm repeating myself. I see a future w/DickBert.
  7. Two more wild pitches and Colabello -- which in Lakota means Beautiful Friend -- is home.
  8. Happiness comes and goes, but tragedy is forever. Strangely, I'm happy in South Dakota.
  9. Oh, yeah. Him, too. (English major.)
  10. Battlefields and Southern food. That's all I know.
  11. Jackson, Miss. (love Faulkner, sorry), Nashville, Mobile. Love the South, period.
  12. Thanks for the gameday thoughts. Good stuff, as usual. I see you survived the wedding. Re so many wanting to leave Illinois, guess I'm guilty. I was born in Moline. Left three months later. Guess I couldn't stand it.
  13. I'm at work, so can't see game. So anything I say to comment about on-field play will be delayed by, oh, 30-40 minutes.
  14. Forgot to add: And it might be fun. And ya might win.
  15. Watching the Twins is a little like entering a Boy George look-alike contest. Ya got nothing to lose.
  16. Read both comments. Now will listen to Duran Duran wearing a tutu while the cows in the field go moo moo.
  17. Sorry to hear about Rope. Some wild cats never make the change to domesticated life. It may like farm life more than you know. My wife and I have taken in more than a dozen cats over the years that wandered in our shop's back door that faces a cornfield in South Dakota. But the last one camped outside our picture window at home. We brought it food. It ate, then skeedaddled. We trapped it, found out it was preggers, and kept it and the one kitten who lived. Mama still avoids us, the kitten loves humans and our other current four strays. As for the game, some days you win, some days you lose, and some days it rains.
  18. Hey now! You got something against low prices everyday? I'm an owner in the company, according to my 401K.
  19. Or in the backyard in a Macy's box.
  20. That Gardy, crazy like fox. Sends Burton in to face Detroit's best bats, so now Perk can have an easy 9th. Yeah, that's the plan.
  21. Stuck at work, but the boss -- me -- sez it's OK to doodle with the interwebs. So everyone please do that voodoo that you do so well.
  22. I'm liking this team. Good energy, improved approach at plate, hope that starters come around. Maybe a good run is in its future.
