  1. I remember Thornton being a lot....rounder...is this the same guy?
  2. Let Hughes get back out there and get the CG!!!!
  3. Just like Mauer to walk and leave the RBI chance up to someone else.
  4. Sneaky. That Brian Cashman knows his stuff
  5. Has Kubel reached his roster bonus yet? Can he be cut mid-game?
  6. Why change your mind about Pinto PHing for Kubel just because it's tied? Is getting a lead not important?
  7. Willingham hit that ball so hard.
  8. I would certainly hope a guy can "see" a straight-as-an-arrow 80mph BP fastball.
  9. I think Parms would be better, but really I'm just surprised that the ONLY options Twins have for left field (excluding Hammer) are a bunch of slow to slow-ish guys who can't hit.
  10. Any that care about developing their players? Lest we get another Hicks up here...
  11. I understand Willingham can't play LF every day, but isn't there a legit LFer the Twins can run out there instead of Kubes?
  12. Good article. I agree with everything you said except Chris Collabello. Great story, really nice guy, but he's the RH version of Kubel--hot start, nothing since then.
  13. He was probably worried about breaking an unwritten rule and then having to confront himself about it.
  14. Nolasco allows almost two baserunners per inning and only gives up one run? Witchcraft.
  15. I'm fairly certain that Willingham could play as active a SS as Jeter these days
  16. It had something to do with Rick Anderson and Mauer and defensive shifting. Also he flopped into a headfirst slide, helmet came off, bounced up and cut his eyelid so bad he needs stitches.
  17. What'd Gardy do? I missed the first 1/2 the inning.
  18. I was a little worried that my comment didn't make any sense
  19. Plouffe's HR makes me so, so optimistic that Hughes is gonna win the Cy Young this year.
  20. Yankee Stadium is such a bandbox. Plouffe looked like he barely hit that.
  21. What was Dozier swinging at up there?
  22. I would say "get a hit more than once ever 5 ABs," but I really don't want Kubel in the lineup anymore, and I don't see the point of having Nunez around unless we need a SS or 3B in a pinch.
  23. Westgaaard: If I remember correctly, "Game Winning RBI" just means "who drove in the run that ended up being the last run necessary to win the game," right? So if you win 9-0, whoever got the first RBI gets the game winning RBI. Or if the other team came back to lose 8-9, whoever drove in that 9th run gets the Game Winning RBI. Pretty terrible way to judge how someone performs with the "game on the line," in my opinion. Now, in true Internet fashion, I'm going to leave without offering a better way to judge someone in the clutch. Although I'll say I don't believe there is such a thing as a "clutch" baseball player.
  24. Just because I allow you to peacefully express your opinion doesn't mean I'm not well aware how wrong you are
  25. You can criticize the farm system whenever and wherever you like. And I can say "be patient" and "don't blame people/organizations for injuries." And I don't think the timeline keeps moving back, I just think you set the timeline expectations way too high in the first place.
