  1. Seager and I Lee are both Top 100 prospects, I take Seager over Lee, and if they threw in a lower tier prospect, I personally would do it for Seager, I seen him play in person, and he looks top notch to me, probably profiles more as a 3rd baseman, not sure tho. Seager and or Lee, would rank as a top 5 to 7 prospect in Twins deep system, Seager maybe even higher.
  2. So changing managers wont change the way the team plays??? So Baltimore shouldn't have fired the manager they had before Showalter? Or Boston should have kept Valentine?? Cuz I am sure both the manager before Showalter(and I don't remember who it was) and Valentine don't know how to coach. I think it is time for a new manager, whether who we hire is better or not, but I don't want Gardenhire managing the new blood coming thru the system. Its the Twins way or no way it seems, like they did to Gomez, don't go for the fences, hit it the other way, look at him now, I think it was the same for Ortiz, but I really don't remember that. I am just tired of the monotone Twins every single day. And if it makes anyone feel any better or worse, Tom Kelly wasn't a good manager either, they were player managers, but I don't feel they were good game managers. I am a Twins fan, but the Twins won those years because of home field advantage. Great at home and just barely good enough on the road.
  3. I don't have a problem with either, and also if one has too, with the potential I see, I also would prefer Hicks leading off over Buxton, unless Buxton turns into a 60 plus SB threat.
  4. I seen Gomez play early in his career, he misread a few balls, now more than Hicks, i don't know, but I am happy with Hicks , and I do know he will be our RF when Buxton comes up.
  5. In my opinion , athleticism and instincts, to me he is an instinctive player and will improve, he is/was raw and still is learning, I think he will be well above average defender in the near future.
  6. [quote name=jokin;135925 And hopefully' date=' he'll be the answer at leadoff starting next season, and holding it down competently until Buxton arrives to take that spot in the batting order.[/quote] I don't expect in a few yrs that either Buxton or Hicks will be lead off hitters, I think we will still be looking for that guy. I think with Buxton and Hicks power potential, you will see them hitting in the 2-3-4-5 spots. I foresee at some point if all goes well, unknown at leadoff, Hicks batting second, Mauer 3rd, Sano 4th, Buxton 5th. Now both Buxton and Hicks can or could lead off, I am not saying they cant, but I ideally like them down just a bit.
  7. I will be VERY surprised if he is only a 4th outfielder, he may not be a star, but I think he will be better than both Span and Revere.
  8. If Wimmers has to be protected, I can see protecting him, doesn't it only cost 25 grand to pick up someone if you then decide to give them back? Pocket change in baseball scheme of things. That is also predicated that he gets back on the mound before seasons end and looks promising.
  9. Just for comparison, here is my order. 1 Buxton 2 Sano 3 Stewart 4 Gibson 5 Meyer 6 Minier 7 Rosario 8 Berrios 9 Kepler 10 May 11 Polanco 12 Micheal Tonkin 13 Harrison 14 Vargas 15 Josmil Pinto 16 Wimmers 17 Danny Ortiz 18 Adam Brett Walker 19 Levi Micheal(still have hopes that injuries are behind him and he still will be a productive hitter) 20 Eades.
  10. I think Tonkin and Pinto, also should be on the list probably in the 12-15 range. Others to consider close to that 20 range are Aderlin Mejia and Adam Brett Walker.
  11. I like the comments, but I think you are a little optimistic about the timeline on when these guys will get called up or see major playing time at the top level. Like you , earlier I predicted that Buxton , if he keeps raking will see a Sept 2014 call up. But I don't see a Sano call up before Sept of 2014, I think both Buxton and Sano earliest call up is Sept of 2014. Rosario, I think 2015. I think , altho I like him, Travis Harrison is a little high, for being mostly a power only guy, with decent average potential. But we all have opinions and I respect everyones , so overall I like comparing mine ideas to others, so it was fun to read your prospectus
  12. Of course he has things to work on, but the BB rate is still an extremely small sample size, as is it pertains to Batting Average also. Also, I believe pitching is better and probably wont walk as much early until pitchers are trying to be pinpoint on hitting there corner spots, and when they are missing the spots he will walk more. There also could be a slightly diff strike zone , being the umpires should be better at this level.
  13. And if I recall correctly, who he ended up with Washington was because he was not tendered a contract the previous year from Pittsburgh(?) because he was arbitration eligible and Pittsburgh didn't see he value worth what he was going to get in arbitration, so they let him become a free agent, so at the time, the Twins or any team was able to sign him, I don't remember what his contract was when we got him, but I am thinking it was $5 to 8 million, definitely not worth giving up Ramos, when you could have just signed him the year before, for just the money. Capps was a good guy, but not a good closer IMO. Closers need to be strikeout pitchers, or mostly power pitchers.
  14. I think he could be, unless they trade for someone at the deadline, that has a future as a 1st basemen. But I think he will get an opportunity next year, and if he shows he is not a AAAA player, he will stay with Twins while he is cheap and longer if he shows that he is above avg major league hitter. IMO he needs to be a .260 hitter or better and keep showing the power.
  15. If Cleveland put Lindor on the table would you trade Perkins to a divisional foe? I would take that trade in a heartbeat.
  16. Just wondering Brock, I assume you don't like Terdo at all?? So you would prefer Colabello or Parmalee at first instead, or none of the above?
  17. I don't think they would give that much away, one or the other and another, lower tier prospect, just think of it in terms of if we needed a Closer, would you be willing to send, a healthy Alex Meyer and another top 50 prospect for any closer? We don't have the prospects that line up close to your proposed Taillon Hanson scenario, but hopefully you get the drift. And yes that would be easily enough to pry away Perkins, I would be ticked if that offer came along and we didn't take it.
  18. Well starting pitching is a area of need, and I am not saying Braves would do this, but if this scenario did happen, I think , we would come out a little ahead of the Braves, barring future injury. Pastornicky by almost all accounts I have read thru Braves blogs is really not a shortstop , more of a second baseman, supposedly lacks range and arm strength to be full time shortstop. And in house first baseman, Parmalee? Colabello? if that is who you are referring to, I would put my stock in Terdoslavich, now if you were talking future, yes we have candidates that are a couple years away..............anywhooooo lol it was just a question of if we would come out ahead on that trade, and I think we would , I love speculating, being armchair GM
  19. Well here is a trade proposal I made on another non Twins Daily thread, thumbs up or down?? Perkins, to Atlanta(and I know they are not desparate for a closer, but did lose their 2 best lefthanded setup men) for Joe Terdoslavich(24 yr old) switch hitting , 1st baseman , outfielder; Juan Jaime (25-26) hard throwing RH relief pitcher; and Alex Wood(22), hard throwing LH starting pitcher. Both pitchers have had health issues in the past, but both are dominant type players, Terdo is batting over .300, with decent power, prolly projects to 20-25 HR's a yr, and could fill 1st when Justin leaves.
  20. I am surprised that Mondesi isn't higher, he is 17 yrs old, batting 260 in low A ball, with a ton of potential and already playing beyond his yrs. And the bloodlines are there too.
  21. I like the pick , But unless there is something wrong with him, I was hoping for Austin Wilson.
