  1. I will probably not be able to get the lineups posted before game time. Thanks in advance!
  2. For some reason I got a bit nostalgic and started thinking about how my dad used to listen to baseball on the radio as we did some work on the house. Then there were other time we'd be returning home from some function dad had attended that was part of his job, and, again, baseball would be on the radio: *Yes, this was an excuse to put up this video, because, A: I like the baseball references and, B: I think it's hilarious. Coming out of the break, the Twins had given me some hope they were going to right the ship and get things back on track: *Notice the tracks are rather short. But, never fear, it's a new day and another day of baseball! *I tossed this in for MIA TwinsNorth, who wit and insight I've missed this year. Now that everything even remotely related to baseball has been put up, (what, you've never heard of "6 degrees of separation?" Anything and everything can be connected to baseball. All else is madness!) I leave you with the following thoughts that may or may not be thoughts worth thinking: Some random observations from last night: 1. Dick and Roy made a pretty good observations, last night, about strikeouts versus putting the ball in play.2. The Twins seem to be sort of flat, which is puzzling, to say the least.3. Congratulations to Mr. Mauer for the double and his entry into the Twins record books!4. Mauer continues to hit, which is great to watch.5. KC had more walks than hits? Play ball!

  4. I suppose posting the lineups might be a good idea:
  5. I hope everyone has a great Saturday and enjoys some baseball. Win or lose, still the greatest sport on the planet.
  6. Yesterday, the game just didn't quite go the way we, as Twins fans, really wanted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haWRUpPw_tI *Teenage girls screaming and fainting at Mr. McCartney. Twins fans groaning and fainting as the Twins lose....okay, maybe a tad overstated. However, today is a new day of fun, frolics and angst! *Had to go with the live performance because the marketing video was a bit, shall we say, risqué? Which brings me to my point, which is, well, I have no real point to make. After all, this is just a game thread and I'm your humble host. *The future of Twins marketing? And now for something completely different: *When in doubt, go with Monty Python! Or, "The Princess Bride." "Spinal Tap?" Which brings me to thinks that may or may not be worth thinking: Some random observations from last night: 1. Costly error by the Twins.2. Duffy seems to have, shall we say, issues? But, the man can pitch!3. Gibson continues to impress. 4. The team kept fighting but fell just a wee bit short.5. I laughed because KC didn't exactly celebrate the win. It looked like they knew they were lucky to pull out the win. Play ball!
  7. Maybe we can trade Belisle for Duensing?
  8. The home town nine went into All Star break on a roll, having gone 9-2 on this home stand. The Twins going 9-2 was enough, that it made this last week a bit hard because, well, no Twins to watch. *Maybe not Ronnie James Dio, but, front man does a good job. What do we have to look forward to, now that the team seems to have hit its stride? Will the All Star break be a momentum killer? *Hard to believe this is the same gal who fronted for 'Til Tuesday and did, "Voices Carry." The long wait is behind us and the Twins get to pick up where they left off and baseball's second half is in front of us. And what will the second half hold in store for us? *That wraps up this part of the opener! More thoughts on thoughts worth thinking: Some observations about the last game the Twins played and other thoughts: 1. Another Dozier walk off homer. How much fun is that?2. Team didn't quit which was good.3. Berrios, All Star pitcher!4. Rosario: Oh so close!5. Interesting spot to use Mr. Rodney. Play ball! Pitching:
  9. That's a great story by Mr. Dozier. I tend to forget the on-field product is only a snapshot of what a team actually is.
  10. Well, shoot, there goes my fantasy of Red Sox fans melting down when Machado and Harper wind up in New York.
  11. Good grief, it's almost like Molitor got a win despite his best efforts.
  12. Yeah, I thought I saw Cash mouthing off from the bench. That's bush league crap and managers shouldn't be lipping off like Cash was. And if Cash called for that pitch at Escobar, that's a bunch of crap.
  13. I want to say it was two walk-offs in the same week. The Tiger walk-off was just before All Star.
  14. No matter what, it was something out of the ordinary for Molitor. Good for him!
  15. You know, after Escobar was hit for no good reason a few weeks ago, I can see him taking exception to a ball inside.
  16. And this game just became entertaining.
  17. I'm going with Rodney has been traded and, if the Twins come back, Hildenburger will get the ninth.
  18. What in the world? I walk in the door after shooting IDPA and the score is 6-4 Twins. I clean up, wander out and the Twins are losing 9-6? Really?
  19. Okay, big sigh of relief... And, the Twins get out of something that, three weeks ago would have resulted in many runs. What a crazy game baseball is.
