  1. As I mentioned in the game thread, a depleted lineup found a way to get a lead then win the game. This is a team that isn't quitting. I still cannot fathom this team could win 100 games this year. I'd have been thrilled with the possibility of 90.
  2. I still want to know why the 3rd base coach didn't notice the 3rd base getting in behind Garver.

  4. I can sort of defend using Parker in that situation. He's got the experience in that kind of high leverage situation and Baldelli didn't want to burn through Rogers if the Twins were unable to tie the game. There just weren't a lot of great choices last night. Again, I was surprised Parker only gave up 1 run. I thought for sure we were going to see Boston put 4 or 5 on the board.
  5. No matter your take, this is the kind of pitching performance needed, should the Twins make the playoffs. Yeah, I know the Twins are 10 games up, but, I'm not counting my playoffs until the first game starts.
  6. Give Parker the low leverage situation and see if he can turn it into a high-leverage situation?
  7. I find it interesting that Gibson was pulled even though he was never really in trouble last night. Great way to go, though. 8 innings by Gibson then Rodgers to finish the game. Maybe this game is the "El Gasolina" moment for this team, where the bullpen was frayed then Berenguer came in for a spot start and threw 8 innings?
  8. Speaking of Duffey, I think he's pitching with a bit of attitude, which I think is good. If Duffey gets command of that fastball, he could really be something. Of course, the same could be said of May. Kind of scary to think this team, which continues to win, is still a work in progress.
  9. I'm not sure I move Mr. Buxton until the current lineup is no longer producing. Over the years, the number 9 hitter has been a rally killer, but, this year, it's not.
  10. I have to give the FO a pass back then, because they were still trying to get things going along with Molitor and his cadre running things on the field. It really does appear cleaning house with the on-field staff has made a difference.
  11. I'm starting to think Odorizzi has gone into "until opposing players prove they can hit his fastball, he's going to keep throwing it" mode.
  12. Trade for a starter, move Pineda to the bullpen.
  13. The look on Bauer's face after Max goes deep the third time is priceless.
  14. I think Pressly is a classic example of the "change of scenery" scenario of baseball.
  15. Telling you what to do seems a lot like complaining about the food that someone else prepared. As long as I'm not cooking, I'm good. Keep up the great work!
  16. Much as this loss grinds on me, there were a few things working against the Twins: 1. Hits that found holes and bled through. 2. Perez seeming to have forgotten everything that got him where he currently is. 3. Shaky fielding. Sano's error cost the Twins in a big way. 4. Ump getting an attitude. The Twins do have some arms, but, those arms need to step up and get the job done. I never really thought Parker was much more than a stop-gap, much as I approve of the name, until someone currently in the organization got their act together May obviously has the fastball and if he can get his curve ball working, should be good to go. Fernando Romero has the stuff, but, does he have the confidence needed to anchor the bullpen? Then, Hildenburger fell apart for whatever reason. Hopefully, some answers will appear over the next few weeks and they will come from within rather than spending a ton of money on an FA acquisition. I say this as a fan who's not a numbers guy like a lot of you scary big brains on this site.
