With the state of the Twins bullpen right now, I would want any of the arms traded away instead of Raya, an unproven arm who has struggled in AAA, and never pitched in the majors. I'm not saying that I would want all of the players traded away back, but most likely, aside from Raya, none of the four that you listed are going to be on the Opening Day Roster. If the Twins were willing to commit to playing Jenkins and Culpepper consistently, that would be a different story, but I don't think that is likely to happen. -
Everyone is upset because the reason the young guys are going to be playing is because everybody else is gone. The Twins aren't really choosing to play the 'young guys', they are just the players that are left. I think that there is a part of every diehard Twins fan that will really never be satisfied. That is part of the joy of being a fan of a small market team. Half of being a Twins fan is complaining about ownership, the front office, or something else. I know, personally, that if the Twins began winning every year, I wouldn't know what to do.

I think that Raya needs to be in the bullpen. I don't think that he will ever be able to develop into anything other than a number four or five starter. Prielipp is more interesting, however. Falvey has indirectly commented about Prielipp moving to the bullpen this year. If it was up to me, I would give Prielipp a month or two in AAA to try and work it out as a starter, but I don't think that will happen. The major league team is desparately in need of bullpen arms, and Prielipp has the upside to become a 8th or 9th inning guy. I expect Raya to be in the bullpen to start the season.

I don't think that the Twins need to be looking into acquiring another outfielder. The outfield position is crowded enough as it is, and getting a difference-maker in the outfield is probably out of their price range.

Before this season, I was kind of down on Rodriguez as a prospect, because of his lack of power, and injury history. I was impressed with what he did this season however, and his performance in a pitcher friendly league gets me really excited. I think that he has a very real chance to make the Opening Day Roster if he continues to prove himself in Spring Training. It is also nice to see a Twins prospect perform well, in a Winter or Fall league.

It is a very full and chaoitic postition for the Twins this season. . I would sort them into 5 tiers. 1. Head and Shoulders above the rest: Byron Buxton 2. 2025 outfielders: Trevor Larnach, Matt Wallner, Alen Roden, Austin Martin, and James Outman 3. Prospects nearing the bigs: Walker Jenkins, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Hendry Mendez, and Gabriel Gonzalez 4. Other Assorted minor leaguers: Ryan Kreidler, Kyler Fedko, Carson McCusker, Kala'i Rosario, and Ricardo Oliver 5. Possible Position Changes: Royce Lewis, Luke Keaschall, Kody Clemens, and Mickey Gaspar Buxton is obviously going to be on the roster, barring a trade, and I think Wallner and Roden will be in as well. I don't think any of Lewis, Keaschall, or Clemens are likely to switch to the outfield because of how many options the Twins have in the outfield. I think Larnach is likely to be traded this offseason. Martin should be on the roster, which leaves Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, and Outman to compete for the final outfield spot. If it was up to me, I would go with Jenkins or Rodriguez to start the season, but I wouldn't be shocked if Outman was given the Opening Day spot, with a short leash to be replaced by one of the prospects.

I don't expect to get someone who shows up on any prospect lists, but I could see the Twins getting a mid-minors arm with some upside like a Jose Olivares type. Even that is better than nothing.

Well, at least this means that we won't be forced to watch Pareda and Gaspar try to fill in as the backup catcher behind Jeffers. If Jackson manages to solidify himself, and performs, I wouldn't be surprised if he is kept on for next year, if they do not extend or resign Jeffers. There is some upside here, and 1.8 million is not an unreasonable sum, for a back up catcher. It is a bit sad to see Eeles go, but he was not likely to ever debut with the Twins. It's a salary dump for the Orioles, and it fills a need for the Twins.

I think tendering Trevor Larnach was the right decision. I do however believe that he should be traded before opening day. The Twins should be able to find someone who is willing to acquire Larnach. I would be surprised if he is on the Opening Day Roster.

At this point, the Twins should be willing to take a chance on almost any bullpen arm. Moreta interests me. It sounds like he has a good arsenal, and great stuff. It's harder to get on board with another oft-injured player, but the Twins options are limited, and if he could turn into a 7th-8th inning guy, that would be a huge win.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a boost to 15-20% this year, but I don't think that his career stats quite merit a hall of Fame election. I think he stays on the ballot all 10 years, but ends up falling short by about 10-15 percent.

This is the case with not just the Twins, but almost every midwest small market team in MLB. The Twins are never going to have a top 5 payroll. I think for the most part, the Twins have done a good job of developing players at a lower level, but there has been a lot of struggle with translating that to the big leagues. Hopefully the new big league hitting coach can help with that.

Hoopes has been very inconsistent in the Arizona Fall League, but I still think that their is something there to be excited about. Amick has struggled since the start of this season, and unless he turns it around next season, there are a lot of ready younger prospects there to take his spot. I'm not saying that he doesn't still have potential, but it has been a struggle for him lately.

Of this list, Wallner is the most likely to be traded. I don't think the Twins should be looking to move Ober after a down season despite the full rotation. If Wallner is traded, than the Twins need to be willing to let Jenkins and Rodriguez get consistent playing time in his spot.

Not a exciting move, but I like it nonetheless. If Ozre can give them 30 innings in a middle of the bullpen role, than that is a win. It's a good story with Ozre, and hopefully he can turn into something for the Twins. There are still a lot of uncertainty around the bullpen, but he should be on the Opening Day roster.

Nothing really surprising here. I wonder if John Klein is maybe being thought of as a possible bullpen arm for this season. I would have liked to see them protect Culpepper, but there are only 40 roster spots, and someone had to lose out. I hope no team claims him, but I would not be shocked if someone took a chance on him. I am excited to see what Mendez can possibly bring to the team, maybe as a first baseman.

Rumor has it that the Twins are interested in a under-the-radar 42 year old first basemen from Minnesota named Moe Jauer with suspiciously elegant sideburns.

It's sad to me that this is the second article in the past week talking about potential minor league and under the radar bullpen additions. It is a reality of the state of the franchise right now however. I would not be shocked if the biggest move for the Twins this year is bringing in a middle of the pack reliever on a one year deal. I want to be optimistic about the Twins 2026 season, but unless the ownership is willing to invest in even build a league average bullpen, it is very hard to have any optimisim.

I like a lot of these hires, especially the Hawkins and Sizemore hirings. I think that the changes in the coaching staff are what is really going to change the outlook of the team, more than just having a new manager. I am excited to see what Shelton will bring to the team, but even if his manging style is similar to Rocco's, his new coaching staff should make a difference, and hopefully bring about some change with the way the team is run.

I was initially surprised that Jeffers is listed that high on the list, but after going down the list, it made more sense to me. That Jeffers is a free agent after next season kind of snuck up on me, because he was rarely included in trade talks during this year's trade deadline. I think that is important for the Twins to extend him a few years, if only to hold down the fort, until names like Tait, Jimenez, and Diaw are ready. Once he is gone, there is basically no one left at the catcher position for the Twins.

I would like to see Pete Maki return in 2026 as the pitching coach, but I wouldn't be completely devastated if he did not. I like to think that he has played some role in the Twins continuing to have an above average pitching staff, but who knows how much of that comes from development earlier on. I know the Twins take a lot of heat for their development of young pitchers and rightfully so in some cases, but there are a few bright spots. My initial thought would be to fire the hitting coach, but that went very wrong last year with the firing of Popkins, so it might be beneficial for the Twins to keep him on a couple of years, but if Shelton comes in wanting a new staff, than I think the Twins should be willing to give him that.

There's not much to be excited to be about in the performance this group has been putting up, but it is nice to see Amick finally get a hit as well as Winokur going deep again. None of these players besides Mendez and maybe Winokur are likely to impact the big league club, but it's nice to speculate anyway.

Former Twin MVP for this postseason has got to be Louis Varland for setting the record for most appearances in a single postseason. It's too bad he wasn't able to get a ring, but his performance was impressive.
