  1. I know players with potential that have missed time due to injuries are more likely to get the call... players that have not been able to get a full season of growth in. Also, it is a good testing ground for players that have the potential to be good prospects but need an extra push/ level of competition to find the out. AFL is a good place for the FO to evaluate the talent levels
  2. Back in the day I only went if it was Brad Radke Starting. That was when the rest of the rotation was lousy or unproven. He wasn't a Cy Young but he was the closest thing to it at the time. In other words, I support what your saying here in theory. Last night I turned it on just to see how the "Opener" thing went. At this point I might be interested to go see certain rookies getting their first tastes of starting in the majors but I'm not going to see Odorizzi, or Gibson...
  3. Nah, Its just you... Hopefully Gordon and Wade can rebound and make it up next year. They definitely did not deserve promotions and need more seasoning. Rooker is highly likely to make his debut next year. I predict he forces his way up the first half of next year. Kiriloff has been moving quickly as well. I would not be surprised to see Kiriloff force his way up in the second half next year as well.
  4. Look forward to hearing more about this PTBNL... Can't hurt having Gimenez for the remainder of the year backing up Garver.
  5. On the first part I disagree. If we were financially strapped because of that money yes but as is, no that money does not factor into how I would grade it. Second sentence, that is part of why he degrades the value of the trade to me. They won't just cut him right away. They will look for value in either flipping him or hoping he returns to pre dodger form. If they do flip him, fine, improve the grade to a C but I'm afraid we're stuck with him for the remainder of the year while they evaluate value in him or look for trade. (Hopefully he's already running through the waiver wire)
  6. The big problem with taking Forsythe is that he’s taking a 25 man roster spot from someone (Gordon?) that could get some MLB experience in preparation for next year.
  7. So with 5 new additions from trades, our top 20 watch at the end may no longer be our top 20... any chance we can add 3-4 of them at the bottom or that list can be expanded to 23 or 24? PS THANK YOU for these updates daily and I love the layout of them this year!!!
  8. My impression has been that Kiriloff is more advanced than Lewis or Graterol. I would be surprised to see those two begin next year in AA unless they really blow up the rest of the season. Kiriloff was promoted a little earlier than them and isn't a short stop so I would not be surprised to see him begin next year in AA. Less positional pressure to perform and more about that incredible bat.
  9. I have mostly agreed with your list so far with a minor quibble about Blankenhorn being above Rortvedt Based on their numbers so far plus potential. I did not complain about that but Badoo does not belong in front of many that he is currently in front of based on performance plus potential shown so far and that includes Rortvedt who was promoted off the same team as Badoo earlier this year. I would move everyone behind Badoo up one spot through 12 and bump Thorpe up two spots to 12th. Then I’d move Rortvedt to 13, drop Badoo to 14th and Blankenhorn to 15th. I’m happier and I’ve appeased some of the Thorpe apologists a little (surely not enough though)
  10. Seth, this is one of your best written (at first blush I'd say it is THE best) interview articles I've read and I've read a lot of them. Sincerely I just want to say Thank You!
  11. Especially if he's in Cedar Rapids with Toby Gardenhire
  12. OF Kerrigan moves from A+ to AA and Alex Kirriloff has a night off at low A.... Hmmmm. Is it finally gonna happen?
  13. Thanks SD! Nice article. What I saw of Miranda when I was down there last week left me with very high hopes as well. He definitely looked the part as a prospect... Not one of the top three prospects there but in the discussion of top 5 CR prospects.
  14. .??? Game two of the kernels double header has the score 1-0 Clinton but you discuss a Kernels come back win... Final score 3-2 Kernels?
  15. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes. I agree with all 6 suggestions with the one problem of where do you put Slegers if you bring him up? I know some are arguing for Gonsalves but I like him getting a little more seasoning in AAA first. But yeah, he's close too.
  16. Extend Dozier and Escobar 3 years and 1-2 years respectively. Bring up Gordon and let the competition begin between him and Polanco for long term 2nd baseman job while Lewis continues to develop for the next couple years. When the Dozier string has played out, Lewis is SS, Polanco or Gordon is at 2nd, the other is the Utility infielder. Meanwhile other names have emerged and are putting pressure on the starters to excel so as to hold onto their jobs. Middle Infield future looks bright for some time to come!
  17. I will be honest. I never have been a big Gibson fan but what he has done this year has made me question my stance. I do not mind getting proven wrong in this manner...
  18. Unfortunately for Slegers, as a starter he is gonna be buried in depth barring injuries unless he ends up helping out in the bullpen. Many starters have gotten a good intro to the majors in the bullpen (Johan Santana being the elite Twin to have done it) so it might not be a bad thing especially given the status of that bullpen this year. On a positive note, I think Hughes is a reliever for the rest of his career so Slegers is only behind the current 5, Santana, May and possibly Gonsalves... He might be ahead of Gonsalves...
  19. Thank you for sharing this story.
  20. It seemed to me that I was reading TJ Whites name a lot so far this year so I looked up his stats. In 45 at bats, 5 White has 11 hits and 21 total bases. He has hit 1 double and 3 home runs accumulating 7 RBI's in 13 games to go with 5 runs he has scored. He has a .244/.277/.467 slash for a .743 OPS. Huh... Nothing too exciting...
  21. I Lost count somewhere around ...... 5 Some would blame lack of dedication to the cause
  22. A torn ACL is hard to come back from in less than a year. My guess is that Arraez is still going to be on the DL a little longer but he is still listed on his MiLB page as a member of the Miracle. Attached is his AAP page if anyone wants to update us on his rehab... http://twinsdaily.com/topic/28855-luis-arraez-2018/
