    I just read a post from a credible source about the Twins offering Keaschall in trades. This has me very intrigued now.

    God, we need a good Paddack start. It's been a while. His July ERA is 7.80 yikes. Win the series and go back home!!!!

    Especially in this situation, usually the Twins are on the other end. Hope they use their leverage wisely.

    I hope so, but who knows? I would want Ferris or Rushing if that's the case. It just seems like the Twins always get screwed in trades or never really get maximum value.

    I don't think the Twins should trade either one, but the team control has huge benefits for any team trying to get Jax or Duran. I love that the Twins are using their leverage to ask for top prospects. If they do trade them, IMO I would want Jackson Ferris and/or Daulton Rushing. Should be interesting!!!!

    I like the Twins using their leverage, but I don't see them swiping a top 100 prospect for a reliever. The team control could be a determining factor here. Stay tuned.......

    I agree about dealing off the expiring hitter contracts, but I want to keep Jax, Varland, and Duran for the future. I also agree that the Twins have guys they can plug in if Castro, France, or even Vazquez gets traded. Insert Keaschall, Martin, and Gasper. My biggest question is, do you make a trade to make a trade and see what you have in the young guys? I don't think there's much value in our hitters compared to the pitchers being mentioned. Also, what are we expecting back for a Castro trade? It all depends on how we value our players and what we think they're worth.

    It's tough to compare right now because of the difference in competition, but Gonzalez has only made one error since arriving in Wichita. He's a career .302 hitter in the minors with almost 1,800 at-bats, but like I said, it's hard to evaluate a guy's true potential in Double-A compared to an MLB player. That's why I said profile. Gladden was and will be a better base stealer, but I don't think Gonzalez has really relied on that aspect too much due to injuries.

    I say keep Ryan, Jax, and Duran. We have seen the game go fewer innings with starting pitching and more usage of bullpen arms. Keeping Jax and Duran to go with Varland as well would still be a dangerous bullpen for next year, and you wouldn't have to rely as much on good starting pitching. They all appear to be due for arbitration, which doesn't bode well for Twins fans. The bullpen is their strength right now; I might want to keep it intact for the next few years. I think they should consider trading Coulumbe, Sands, and/or Stewart to see what's available. Probably not a great return, but it's worth seeing. Sands and Stewart can be easily replaced, and Coulumbe has been great, but he's more of a situational pitcher. I wouldn't think Bader or Castro would get an A or B-level prospect back in return, but it's worth seeing what you can get for them as well.

    To me, his profile bears a strong resemblance to Dan Gladden, with a few notable differences. They both are corner outfielders; they both are good contact gap hitters, and both of them were good fielders. I think Gonzalez has the edge in fielding and arm strength. Gladden was a great base stealer, and I think Gonzalez can be too with a different approach. His injuries have significantly hindered his progress in the SB department, and as a result, he has adjusted his approach. Neither player hit a lot of home runs, but Gladden went on to have a great career and was pivotal in the Twins winning the 91 World Series. I think Gabby could become a player like that. The power will be an issue for him, but I hope to see more at-bats and a healthier Gonzalez to realize his potential fully. Also, free swinger or not, he has a 9.8K% rate, which would be the best in the league if he had enough at-bats, and considerably lower than last year and this year in High-A. His BB% is also higher. I'm still in on him to make an impact, but not all-star potential. The guy is 21, can't give up yet IMO.

    The crazy thing is the Rockies are so bad but are still middle of the pack in attendance, and will probably finish top-10 by the end of the year. Coors Field is an absolute beauty of a ballpark.

    I did a full recap on Zebbys last start. He looked really good throwing up to 98 MPH and his secondaries were nasty.

    Dang, as long as hes mixing in all of his pitches and throwing strikes the FO doesn't think velocity drop is an issue. 🤷
