  1. I would keep Keashall and try to include Julien instead. I think Keashall looks like the answer at 2nd base. Julien at best looks like the 3rd option at DH behind Miranda and Larnach! Keep Willie Castro!
  2. Right now Castro is the Twins best defensive backup at 2nd, shortstop, left field and centerfield! I was not impressed with Brooks Lee at either 2nd or shortstop. He also adds speed to a lineup pin desperate need of speed. He played in 158 games last year. He is the only Twins player that should have been worn down during the stretch run! There should only be one reason to trade him and that would be to include him in a bigger trade that would bring in a player of significant impact! Unless that can be done they are better off keeping him! Players like Canario will be available on waivers at the end of Spring Training!
  3. The idea of shedding the salaries of Vasquez and Paddock is certainly appealing providing that the Twins could acquire a catcher in a deal or the free agent market! My question is why would they want to dump Willie Castro who has been their most valuable player over the last two years Because of a $6m salary? That is what they paid Kyle Farmer to do nothing last year! Castro has been more than a bench player for the Twins. They do not have anyone else to replace his ability to play 5 positions well and steal bases! Throw in Julien or other prospects if need be to shed salary but keep Willie!!!!
  4. I don’t see the Twins getting back enough at this point to complete a Lewis trade. With continued payroll restraints I don’t see them signing a free agent 1st baseman that is affordable that will provide much value. Lewis doesn’t like the idea of moving to 2nd base, the team has lots of options there! Why are they not considering him at 1st base? Lee at 3rd, Correa at ss, Castro and Keashall at 2nd with Lewis at 1b might be as good of an infield as any. I’d rather see free agent money spent on the pitching staff and outfield bats than overpaid free agent 1st basemen!
