  1. Didn't realize John Fisher lived in "mid-minnesota"
  2. With multiple players on record talking about the rock hard infield dirt (including mound and batters' boxes) the janky warning track and lack of any infield clubhouses. . . I am incredibly likely to think there is something to this. MLB should have never let the slumlord owner Fisher get away with crushing the fandom, parking the team in a subpar stadium and wait for the hoped for Vegas money. I have friends in Vegas, not sure this will work out like the Raiders or Vegasborn G-Knights, but hey no one is saying no.
  3. I was in the Marines that year, and couldn't follow the team much from overseas. That had to have been a helluva fun team to watch going 90-57 to finish out the season. Fortunately, I made it back in time to see the World Series.
  4. Some of them seem to be working hard. I have no beef with SWR, I do with our big money guys lagging behind their obligations
  5. Our 2-3-4 hitters went 0-12 they are hitting .111 .189 .226 Wake me up when they wake up
  6. Easy Chief, don't burn up two good analogies on this single dumb game. We have plenty of more games to use them later.
  7. I remained unmoved, glad they won but not worth my AZ dollar yet.
  8. I went English spelling hoping you could hear an infirm accent on little effort
  9. Oh my! Runs in multiple innings?! [fans self] The vapours are getting to me!
  10. Relegation is real. Look what happened to the Oakland Sacramento Athletics!
  11. We are seeing the fruits of ownership and management pretending they are broke and can't afford to try or care. We see it, but hope for better. The players see it, and just go through the baseball motions mostly. I just hope the billionaire pauper owners take an offer and yeet tf away from view forever.
  12. I know it's only two massively uninspired games, but honestly . . . if all three got hurt tomorrow, would random replacements do worse at the plate? The Twins would definitely suffer on defense, but if you can't score any runs does a 1-2 loss sting worse than a 1-4 loss?
  13. Maybe I'm just a slow old guy. . . but how does this young, awesome guy keep hurting himself by *running hard*? It's baffling, really. Maybe ban him from lifting and make him eat three cheeseburger doubles daily? You can't sprain fat? I joke, but I am legit looking for reasons of this frustrating ish.
  14. I'm with you 90% of the time Chief, this is very much in that 10% zone. About 1/5 of the league's teams exist to let their owners collect piles of cash without fielding a competitive team. Players looking to maximize their pay (they ARE the reason we watch) is only fair. Like Squirrel stated, owners don't want anyone seeing their books and a huge amount of them don't want a spending floor.
  15. That is the reason it won't happen. A large group of cheapskate owners don't want to meet a floor and will scrap the idea to keep from spending.
  16. Going to need to add some dead money for that theoretic Vasquez trade. Twins will have to eat some of that $10m per
  17. Kylie Jenner! The Twins could have 2 or 3 reality shows on E! Plus make-up giveaways every afternoon home game.
  18. Nah. Why would MLB let this team with a newish stadium relocate when they can charge big time expansion fees? When taxpayers footed a hefty part of the stadium bill MLB got exactly what they wanted in MN, no need to upend the profitable applecart here.
  19. The article uses the heft of Gleeman's article comparing team spending to the Dome days, but this is a good question Strack posits: Can't say I disagree
  20. The other teams have to unite and demand that NY/LA etc split revenue from their regional broadcast deals, or else they can't broadcast away games at their stadiums. I don't think it will happen, but I've been advocating for this approach for over a decade. Those big teams don't exist in a bubble, they need opponents.
  21. I know this isn't an airport, but I am weary of this crap. I have almost as many choices for entertainment as the Pohlads have dollars. I'm not going to spend any more of my time or money on them until something changes.
