  1. Part III will be a classic tragic ending to the heroic figure: Hocking III: Shattered Hope, the Twins Daily Years.
  2. Two good choices when they finally make the much anticipated The Denny Hocking Story: Broken Hand, Fractured Dreams
  3. It is kind of sad to think that much of his award winning acting was done under the influence. It is a shame that so many great artists have substance abuse problems, I suppose that contributed to much of the depth and subtext he brought to his iconic performances.
  4. Were you the real-life inspiration for this cinema masterpiece? http://file1.npage.de/003058/46/bilder/mannequins_film_2.jpg
  5. You don't give yourself enough credit. I would say your are the Mary Tyler Moore to his Ted Baxter or Sue Ann Nivens, Your relative normalcy and linear thought process gives his special brand of "thinking" something anchor to where we can kind of understand it rather than it spinning out into space.
  6. Thanks (unless of course this is snark....)
  7. I believe on this board it is often like a big serving of ham.
  8. Don't you think at some point though someone needs to learn how to snark at the big league level? Wouldn't the end of a losing season be a good time to test someone in the big league instead of the minors where you do not need any subtlety or finesse with your snark?
  9. I heard him say he does not like your taste in music and hates 101 Dalmatians and Mad Magazine.
  10. I was trying to think of some clever reply to this -- but it just makes me go "ugh" and sigh..
  11. I think you meant to type: But surely the game-thread was hopped-up.
  12. Cuddy is back? I knew the game seemed to go on awhile, but it went even longer than I thought.
  13. I just got home and tried to catch up and read the entire game thread. I think there is a danger in reading to much of the game thread at once, and I think I might have permanently damaged part of my mind. This is your mind on too much game thread: http://lksommer.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/istock_000013119322xsmall1.jpg
  14. I should have figured you were related - you are both wearing the same glasses.
  15. Defeating the Indians would be nice -- but nothing beats messing with Detroit's play-off run (unless it would be messing with the White Sox when relevant). I might have to rewatch this and see how it has aged. I always felt a little sorry for poor Stay Puft at this this point. He was just being himself. http://www.criticalend.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/stay-puft.jpg
  16. No the high point is Mount Fargo, where you see many future Olympians train: http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large/ski-north-dakota-debbie-pyle.jpg
  17. Somehow I envision the Tigers owner being like Mr. Burns, sitting in his expensive office, watching the Tigers find another way to sink the end of the season, cursing how he has to find another soul to sacrifice so he can extend his life another year (to what now age 106?) for another attempt to win/buy the world series.
  18. Ruesse was speculating about Hunter returning next year. I guess he would fit the annual old vet for 2015. This was taken this morning. http://i.imgur.com/dmGi44l.jpg
  19. This looks like it might be a good camp for some of our players - or I think some people would like to send some of the managing or coaching staff. Unfortunately, it looks like it is a hockey rather than baseball camp. http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/305/6/0/greetings_from_camp_crystal_lake_by_sgtp3pper-d5jpikw.png
  20. So this is what Mrs. RB has to put up with every time RB arrives home? http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/111101-the%20shining2-v.380;380;7;70;0.jpg
  21. I am hoping that is something as simple as his neck still bothering him and it will correct itself with some rest. I thought I read (or heard) on of the sports media say that the velocity significantly dropped after he reported the neck soreness.
  22. I think he always viewed himself as the heir apparent to Pucket and Hunter. He has been a decent player, but I think he has always thought he was better than he actually was. He seemed to rankle at the suggestion he play anything other than center, even though he was better fit for right field. I remember one year he seemed surprised he did not make the all-star game, and think it was not even one of his better years. I think he was thrown when his name started coming in trade rumors, because I suspect he felt himself as one of the untouchables. I think he has reputation of being a nice guy, but I always thought there was a bit of a moody side to him as well, and while I don't think I would say he has sour grapes, I could see it still bother him that he was not considered indispensable (which to be fair would be perfectly natural and human nature). Luckily we have a over-abundance of speedy outfielders and SS-outfielders, so he has not been needed.
  23. The force was with us: http://practicalfilmtheory.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/1-yoda.jpg?w=430
  24. I have to think something is still up with Perkin's neck, but it is not like a Twins pitcher would keep going out with a nagging injury before finally going on the DL or getting a correct diagnosis.
  25. You think there is some health/injury issue with Perrkins? He has always had an occasional ugly inning, but it seems like it has been about a month since he has had a good inning.
