  1. I am assuming it is a given that by doubling his work load, it will not affect the quality, lucidity, and the relevance of this thoughts that people have come to expect.
  2. I know - I am at work and don't have a box score up for some reason, so am going by the game thread. I can't tell what is real and what is commentator fantasy or fiction. I already incorrectly assumed the game was over at one point.
  3. I hope a loss today does not put this in jeopardy. It will be a bummer if we end the season at 85 wins and just miss the wild card spot.
  4. Everyone is allowed one mistake or slip a season. I am sure it will not happen again.
  5. Hawk's picture might be next to a few other words.
  6. No cable. Will catch an occasional game when doing a Sunday visit to my Mom's. Luckily, baseball works well with the radio, and of course reading the game threads can really fleshes the game out with the descriptive, insightful posts, so it is almost like being there. It is too bad, the Vikings are about the only team you can consistently watch on broadcast TV. A lot different than 20 years ago. Now with the more specialized sports channels, you cannot even see everything with the regular cable packages - you need to upgrade to a higher level.
  7. Yes it is - and I corrected your post.
  8. This shoots some holes in my speculations about some of your posts. I guess I should not be so quick to jump to conclusions.
  9. I used to study with an old big band station on in the background (KLBB - was sad when it changed formats). Ella was great. I am pretty sure she never needed to twerk on stage to keep the audience's attention.
  10. I would be OK with the 1-2-3 Perkins, and not the -- "I am going to add some drama to the end of the game" Perkins. Off to a good start. The radio said Perkins ERA against Chicago this year is over 6 - funny in a not ha ha funny sort of way.
  11. I kind of wish Ozzie was still in the dug-out right now. No one has The Night Chicago Died on their list?
  12. I must be a bit too glass half empty with the Twins for some reason, because I just assumed they would not get he lead back. I feel like a bad fan and should have more faith in my team.
  13. Rumor has it the Twins are going to make them as part of their uniform next year as a way to battle declining ticket sales. (Be too bad if they lose a game where they scored five runs against Sale, that might not happen the next time they face him). http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/r1_Oc.gfO_edu3cRFp.oew--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://media.zenfs.com/en/blogs/sptusmlbexperts/joemauerzubaz.jpg
  14. I just walked to dog around the block - it was 2 to 2 when I left. I take it things did not go well the short time I was gone.
  15. I won't let the outcome of the game damper my excitement of the 7000th post. No one can take that away from me.
  16. Nuns do not seem to rule the pop charts like they used to. I would not mind some wild pitch -- strange error combos to get a few scores like we seemed to get early in the season. I will take a run anyway I can get it - I am not proud.
  17. I reached 300 posts tonight, nowhere near as dramatic. I am going to try to time my 7000th post for when we win the world series, so I need to figure out how to pace myself until October.
  18. I still like Midnight Train to Georgia. Gladys could blow away most of today's singers away (now I sound like I am 85).
  19. I am not too concerned, we can get the lead back next inning. Just need to score some runs.
  20. I can't believe that 1-0 lead was not enough. Who could have foreseen losing it -- or that there would be sloppy play involved? Shocking.
  21. We did have a wolf come into town one summer and put a hit out on a couple of poodles. My brother's college summer job was to patrol the town at night for the police department (which consisted of three people). When the wolf's reign of terror started, they gave him a baseball bat to carry. I suspect we really could have used at least one insurance run there --- that might come back to haunt us.
  22. I have heard it will be Sir Paul's encore at his Target Field concert. He considers it, and much of Paper Lace's songs as under appreciated classics. The part where they make noises like a clock ticking was considered revolutionary at the time.
  23. My useless trivia for the day -- the songwriter was British and was not familiar with Chicago at all. My older brother had the 45 and I used to wonder who Chicago was and that it was sad that she died (I was pretty young, and not a gifted child to begin with). I am going to pretend that base running did not happen.. Those two extra days working on fundamentals in spring training did not seem to be enough (or did they do that in 2013).
  24. I think incredibly creeped out would not be an overreaction.
