Nothing to be gained by Wallner being in the line-up. His confidence is gone. He's not going to suddenly run into a hot streak. Send him down, let him get right (hopefully) against minor league pitching and re-evaluate in a couple of weeks.
Geez. I don't understand how much longer they can trot out Wallner. You're playing a guy who is totally lost at the plate and sitting Martin, who is one of your more productive batters thus far. Doubling down on a bad decision...
Don't understand what the end game is with someone like Garcia. Zero upside whether the goal is to 'contend' this season or find a long-term piece for the pen.
Seems like the Twins are intent on getting something out of Wallner. Writing's been on the wall for quite some time now. He is who he is. Now on his third hitting coach. Second manager. There's no magic elixir that is going to turn it around for him. Make the move. It is long overdue.
