    Probably right, but there is proof via comments that he made last year that he wasn't pleased with being pulled in situations similar to what took place with Ober on Saturday. Well, he has been having a decent year in St. Louis. The Twins sure could have used him this year, but we needed the money to pay for the Buxton's continued IL stints and Correa's return to the IL. :(

    I have to chuckle at his intensity in the dugout between innings. He paces back and forth and never sits down. When his mother was interviewed by Audra during his first start, she said that he has always been that way. He gave a very decent post-game interview. One concern that I have is Baldelli's treatment of these three young starters. I am certain that Ober was very deflated the way he pulled on Saturday. A manager's treatment of his pitchers' mindsets can impact them greatly. It was a reason why Sonny Gray departed the Twins.

    “I go to the mall and I go to the Dior store and I want something, I get it,” Correa told reporters on Thursday of the high-end clothing brand. “I ask how much it costs and I buy it. So, if you really want something, you just go get it." “I’m the product here, and if they want my product, they’ve just got to come get it.” New York Post-September 2022 A podiatrist advised me not wear canvas shoes (obviously not Nike), since they lack support and can lead to plantar fasciitis. Correa has stated that one problem that he has is tied to his Nike contract requiring him to wear their spikes. He has stated to reporters that the Nike brand hurts his feet, but he won't try another brand. Although, he has no challenges with Dior shirt.

    Realistically, Kepler will not be playing for the Twins next season. Sporting News has put out an article about the Twins moving on from Santana next year also. I know there are Buxton fans out there, but the Twins need to think about a good replacement next season due to his repetitive injury prone modus operandi. I understand that they cannot dump him due to the salary, but a PLAN B must be developed. One only needs to examine his past history. It would be foolish to think that they could depend on him to be healthy next year. Several players have had to fill in for him this year due to there not being a Michael Taylor in place.

    I am unsure if he would qualify for the playoffs based on his call-up time being in September. It was mentioned on the Skor North podcast that he would not qualify.

    There is so much that makes no sense to me. - Placing Lewis at 2nd base in September. - Constant platooning/ moving the chess pieces. I have seen the Twins play in four different stadiums this year, and it is so very visible to me that other teams don't do it to that degree. - The lack of TV deal has decreased the fan base. I am out of state but saw the Twins in June in Minneapolis. A veteran Target Field usher told me how he wasn't seeing "the frequent attendees." Many expressed to him how the TV deal mishap made them unattached. - The owner makes an announcement that they will not spend money prior to the season. Well, when you tell your fans that you will not improve the team and fail to have a TV deal, attendance suffers. The arbitration eligible players this offseason include Castro, Ryan, Jax and a couple of other key players. Will the Twins trade rather than spend money?

    AS they mentioned on the SKOR North Podcast today, Correa and the Twins have stated nothing about his progress since he made the remark about his planter faucitis (he connected it to his ankle) injury 1 1/2 weeks ago.

    It sounds as if Buxton may be playing in St. Paul this week and return for the weekend KC series. It would be nice to have a healthy Buxton back on track. He could possibly even post his most games played in a season. It is my understanding that he currently has appeared in 90 games. If he passes 92, it will be the most since 2017 when he played in 140.

    I have tickets to the Twins/Red Sox games next month. It is feasible that this could determine the last playoff spot. My fingers are crossed that the Twins will lock up a spot during the KC/Clev. games. The Fenway visitor's bullpen has to be the most challenging location in the game. The bleacher fans harass the pitchers during warm up.

    For me, it is really frustrating that the two highest paid players seem to have constant injuries. If/when Buxton returns, can he play for the rest of the season without another injury? A return would certainly mean Baldelli giving him considerable time off to rest (part-time player). After having had experienced a planter fasciitis challenge, I can verify that it is very possible for the problem to return a year or two after it is "healed" which could prove to be an issue with Correa in the future. He would also be a part-time player in the future. How much can the team realistically count on the two highest paid players this year and in the future?

    I still am perplexed why Baldelli seems to limit Jax to one inning of relief. He threw only ten pitches and performed well in a close game. Duran has been rocky this year and once again fell apart.

    Yes, the ankle is connected to the foot. See my other comment that was just noted. It is Correa, himself, that is stating the concerns about the issue.

    Sorry....the quote came from Bobby Nightengale of the Star-Tribune. You may also want to visit the Skor North podcast from yesterday. It visits concerns that Correa has made about the injury and the connection to the ankle.

    UFF da!!!! Tough game. My biggest concern is the following. "Correa admitted that he and the Twins are being more careful, since the setback. Because this plantar injury is in his right foot. The same right foot that was surgically repaired in 2014, and the same one that failed two $300 million physicals last Spring."

    I fully agree with the comments regarding Martin's performance being decent, but growth still being needed. For me, the bigger question is the other name in the above headline. He seems to want to play, but his track record of dependability is simply horrible. It seems ridiculous and Rocco constantly rationing his playing time makes it even frustrating. Is there an answer to Buxton and his constant injuries? Has there ever been a "star player" on this team with this type of track record and conservative treatment?

    If Kepler's injury is validated, Keirsey will probably be added to the roster. It is amazing how many rookies have passed through the team during the last two years. I have followed the Twins since the mid-60's and can never recall this many appearing on the roster.

    Rocco needs to take a hard look at what is best for the team. Julian made a bad throw to Santana the other day, has bobbled the ball several times recently, and now makes a grave mistake that cost the Twins a game. I sympathize that bad plays happen but one needs to review his multiple fielding mishaps lately. Regardless, Lee will be returning soon, and Julian will be delegated back to St. Paul. Yes, Buxton is a good player when he is healthy but "resting him" upon his return almost every other day is ridiculous at this point in the season. Farmer is a nice team guy, but he has a .192 average and continues to play on a regular basis. Correa has planter faucitis which can reoccur every season. A person can at least bat in this situation. The team has reached the brink and smart strategy, and thought-out decisions will need to be made. If not, the team will not make the playoffs. Baldelli's constant strange chess moves are mindboggling and costly at times. The team will expand the roster in one week. KC will be on the schedule the very next day and Cleveland will soon follow. Ultimately, Baldelli needs to be strongly evaluated on his managerial decisions at the end of the season.

    Rocco needs to take a hard look at what is best for the team. Simply put, they should not play him the rest of the year in that position and move him back to St. Paul. Yes, Buxton is a good player when he is healthy but "resting him" every other day is ridiculous at this point in the season. Farmer is a nice guy, but he has a .192 average and continues to play on a regular basis. Correa has planter faucitis which can reoccur every season. A person can at least bat in this situation. I played with it during my fastpitch softball days. The team has reached the brink and smart strategy, and thought-out decisions will need to be made. If not, the team will not make the playoffs. If they do not succeed, Baldelli returning for 2025 needs to be evaluated.

    I was at the game today, and it was fun to watch. If Correa doesn't return soon, maybe we need to bring this current booth broadcaster from today's game and former Twins infielder back into action :) After all, he is the same age as Santana. He does add a jovial nature to the broadcast booth.

    I attended the game this evening in SD (many CA Twins fans in attendance). I simply cannot figure out Baldelli. Similar to Alcala a few days ago, Okert gets rocked BAM BAM.. He should have left Jax in for a 2nd inning. Baldelli inserts left-hand pitcher Okert, Arraez singles (does not matter with him who pitches) and the Padres insert right-hand batter Solano who promptly singles. Then switch hitter Profar homers. Why was is it necessary to make this move constantly? If the Twins do not make the playoffs, the team needs to consider a manager change.

    Correa was/is awesome! He reminds me of the recently passed third baseman, Brooks Robinson. In preparation for the upcoming Twins v. Astros game.
