  1. That's a valid point. I do think they would care next year, given revenue would be down while payroll stays constant. But like you said, they would just give us the finger in following years, making the "strike" pointless.
  2. I want to put up ads online for Twins fans not to attend games next year so the Pohlad's feel just as much pain as we do. Yes, this is similar to the crazy guy who puts ads up for people to not buy gas on certain days of the year so O&G companies feel the squeeze..
  3. Here we go, the bullpen is BACK!
  4. I can't wait for the worst bullpen since the AS break to shut us down
  5. I see. If that's the truth, then I guess that makes sense from a business standpoint, even though it is very annoying. On the flip side, this logic should mean larger payroll spending if the team can get a better TV contract after this year. I won't hold my breath.
  6. Like, ownership wants to make more money from the Twins, or they want to cut dollars ear-marked for the Twins to put towards other more profitable ventures? I get it you may not know, it just seems so tone deaf for the Pohald's to cut payroll after the year the Twins had, and not even explain anything to the fans. I get it, they don't care about fans, but they should because we line their pockets.
  7. Did we as fans ever get an explanation for why ownership cut payroll this year? I feel like fans deserve at least a reason for cutting payroll given we are the largest source of revenue. Also, fans have more power than one would think given this dynamic - wish we could find a way to influence ownership to spend more money..
  8. It looks like he can't see it very well. He's my prediction for most disappointing Twin in 2024. Wish they could sell high on him, but they wont.
  9. Sportsmed says mild quad strains take 2 weeks to heal and more severe strains take two months.
  10. Carlos Santana rolls his pant legs above his knees? That's odd..
  11. Yeah, or Paddock. Hell, bring in Terry Mulholland at this point. Just not our de facto SU man.
  12. Yeah idk the weight but it is a bat from the Louisville slugger shop in Kentucky. It feels like I'm swinging a 50 oz bat. There is no way I could wiggle it/swing it as hard/fast as Altuve.
  13. Yeah probably.. I could probably beat him up so i'll just count that as a win
  14. Weird question time: Jose Altuve is 5'6'' and weighs 165 lbs.. I am undoubtedly stronger then him. But when I pickup a wood baseball bat, it still feels heavy, and Altuve makes it look like a wiffle ball bat.. is that because he has strong wrists?
  15. There's no way this game is too big. It's a non-elimination playoff game in a divisional round. In my opinion it is just a bad game, terrible game plan, and some bad luck.
  16. Keep hacking at offspeed outside of the zone and laying off those middle middle fastballs. Maybe our RISP stats aren't that unreasonable.
  17. How many runners have we left on base today? Also, we are like 4 of 35 with RISP this series. That is so unreasonable.
  18. Fair enough. I still don't feel like Solano has contributed at all in a meaningful way for a few weeks, but I guess you gotta play the numbers..
