  1. After further review Bobby Knight is only 72. He was elderly 25 years ago.
  2. So in the crowd we have a 95 year old sitting with an 80 year old and an 8 year old boy with no shirt on!!! Maybe they should go back to the dome.
  3. 326 innings is fall flat on your face bad although it's much more innings then Adam Johnson and Dan Sarafini pitched combined. At this point if he can match Willie Banks or Kevin Slowey's career #'s I'll take it.
  4. I'm ok with people umpires who are good as long as they aren't fat.
  5. It's gone down 2 every day since I started. As long as that keeps happening I'll keep at it.
  6. Closes the month with a walk. In June he becomes a guy you look forward to in the on deck circle.
  7. Magic # 117 cut the division lead by 4 games in 4 days
  8. That doesn't make Gibson a higher prospect, or excuse his lack of performance. If Gibson pitches 326 non September call up innings in the majors I'll be shocked.
  9. Gibson is a C prospect at best at this point, closer to Dan Serafini then Brad Radke. Vance Worley at the exact same age has 56 major league starts.
  10. I say trade him and see if between saving 4 or 5 million and getting a marginal prospect or two we accomplished something. I hate the idea of losing him but I also hate the idea of paying him 10+ million. This also could be a case where you trade him but make an effort to sign him back. You make as many Dave Hollins for David Ortiz type trades as you can because sometimes they work.
  11. The Mets played Gomez in the majors when he was at Hicks stage of development. And he put up decent #'s his first full year with the Twins. Triple A is for the Brian Doizer type players not high end prospects.
  12. Finding a 2 week segment when a guy is hitting .180 isn't hard speaking of which the 1-2 with a 2.000 slugging average so far tonight moves those #'s a long ways. Ben Revere by the way leads the career extra base hit's race 37-12 by the way.
  13. I think that is the path you have to take with 90% of prospects Joe Benson being a great example. Hicks seems to be a different type of kid. His failures early may be the best thing that ever happened to him. As he's used it as a learning experience and hasn't seemed to take it into the next at bat or into the field. A lot of kids go 9 for there first 30 and then you never notice they struggle just as much as Hicks as it takes forever for there statistics to stick out. The kid is already a better player then Ben Revere even as a .161 hitter. If he wasn't getting better he would have been sent down long ago, but at this point the kid belongs here. And by the way if he had been in Rochester the last 4 or 5 weeks he would be putting up the kind of #'s that would have fans begging for him to be called back up.
  14. Only half way there, but I'm confident
  15. Magic # 121!!! The clinch is a sinch
  16. Pitch around him, of course if that happens they'll win on an 18 hopper
  17. 0-7 for Carroll and Hicks gets a pair of big hit's, reward the kid sooner then later.
  18. Hicks #'s are getting prettier by the day
  19. Very possible if these things had taken 3 or 4 months, when it's 3 or 4 years and it has been well known for over a year (an election year) the simple excuse no longer works. If my cable is out 6 hours or even 6 days thats a low level problem if it's out for 6 months thats on the guy in charge.
  20. Does MLB know how close St. Paul is to Wisconsin? Thats Brewers territory!!! Who agreed to this deal anyways?
  21. Carroll is the best option on this roster right now, but when he gets hurt or traded Hicks is the guy in my opinion. If he's a career .220 hitter we will know soon enough but if he is the talent he has shown signs he is he will be our leadoff hitter for a longtime. I was in love with the kid even when he was hitting .070 so hitting .159 with 5 HR's I already have him penciled into the 2014 All-Star lineup.
