This is Berrios' at bat. Called strike, called strike, swinging strike. Kepler's strikeout looking when RISP. None of them are trying. This is how this team has been performing all season. I think the whole team has already given up.
I would like to know how many strikeout looking and strikeout swinging Kepler has this season. Why do you strikeout looking when runners are in scoring position? That's just lazy.
Dozier has 8 errors this season. He can't even keep OPS over 700. Yet our MOY let him hit 3rd in the lineup. Why is Astudillo sitting? I would even prefer Grossman over Dozier at this point.
The Cubs just designated Chris Gimenez for assignment after 32 at bat. The Twins still let Bobby Wilson to start a game every other game. How many at bats is Bobby Wilson going to get this season with the Twins? That's why this team is losing. No one seems to care including the management. Morrison, Motter and Wilson all should have been DFAd in anywhere else.
You have to give the credit when it's due. The Brewers has a monster bullpen. It's the best in the major league. Today's starter is its best starter with an ERA of 2.87. Hader is going to the All Star game this year. Their closer is a shutdown closer. Was their closer an All Star last year? I believe the Twins will see Jeffress tomorrow if it's a close game. Another dominant reliever who is going to the All Star game this year.
The Brewers have more than one. At least 2 maybe 3 dominant relievers. Jeffress has a better ERA than Hader. Well the Brewers have 5 relievers having better ERA than its closer. The closer's ERA is 3.05 and he struck out the side in the 9th today. This is a monster bullpen.
It's just my opinion. Unless it's a closer who might pitch in consecutive days, if a reliever can't go more than 1 inning preferably 2 innings, he probably does not belong in the major league.
Seeing how Craig Counsell handles his pitcher, I really want our MOY gone ASAP. Counsell had so much trust in his reliever so that he let him go 3 innings even though he had at least two more dominant relievers in the bullpen. As soon as the pitcher walked a batter, pitching coach came out immediately. By letting one dominant pitcher pitch 3 innings, Counsell saved another dominant pitcher for tomorrow perhaps for multiple innings as well. That's how a shutdown bullpen works.
Rodney should be a set up guy period. He has better stuff than Reed. He is just not a real closer anymore. He should not be trusted to close when there is only a one-run lead.
He should feel fortunate because there are players who never get a chance and he already got two. Now if he can keep his ERA within single digit in the major league, he might have a chance to stay since he is one of the FO's favorite to get called up.
Rosario at least showed signs of brilliance from time to time. I have seen nothing from Littel. He seems fragile. Rosario is also a lefty. They shouldn't let him go. I think the FO traded for Littel and signed Morrison, Wilson and Motter. That's why they got so many chances over others although they have been performing miserably.
They somehow provided some value to this team. Littel has no value right now. He simply does not belong in the big league. Belisle is way better than Littel.
So if he's brought into the game as a reliever he can't perform because he is a starter. Is that what you are saying? He has to be a starter in order to succeed? I didn't see any success last time he pitched as a starter in the major league. Littel pitched two games and got two losses. He cost the Twins two losses with his awesome performance.
Well let's look at it this way. Belisle can be a mop up guy. Littel can't even get anybody out. Littel's ERA: 18.90 Belisle's ERA: 6.87 Belisle has no future value. Littel might have no future in the big league.
