  1. If Rosario is going to hold his own at 2B I would rather trade Dozier for a prospect.
  2. "We’re excited. He actually ate up our Triple-A team in a series recently [going 7-for-14 against Rochester], and our guys duly noted that,” Gardenhire said of Presley. “We brought him over [because] we needed a leadoff guy. … He’s going to get a chance.” He will be the leadoff hitter and starting CF next year. Terry Ryan also said that they wouldn't have made the deal if they weren't happy with the return. At least this makes it so Hicks will have to earn his way back to the majors.
  3. It's a fair point about the money, but it is probably the case that Pittsburgh didn't want to give up those pitching prospects either way.
  4. Pirates Prospects » Duke Welker is Reportedly the PTBNL in the Justin Morneau Trade
  5. See: Acta, Manny. Not neccessarily as the manager.
  6. http://www.zoominto.com/zoomapi/ZoomButt.gif Who deserves that kick in the balls now? Source: Kevin Correia is on his way to your house to beat you up - Twinkie Town
  7. Yea it's nice how he's turning out. I also like my guy Terry Ryan plucking those effective relievers off of minor league deals and the waiver wire.
  8. It's awesome. I would have been happy just to feel like the team was not in a rut 6 games in. Go Seattle they're tied with the chisox in the tenth.
  9. Just a cool article on one of the awesome Twins of all-time: http://www.news-press.com/article/20130407/SPORTS/304070051/1075/New-Miracle-manager-emphasizes-winning-improvement?odyssey=nav%7Chead&nclick_check=1
  10. Player of the game: Kevin Correia!!
  11. Well who has Dozier gotten hits from? I think Escobar has started just as much as Dozier has, usually they're facing the more MLB caliber pitchers at the beginning of the games. I think it is appropriate to question Gardenhire on this decision, especially if Dozier struggles. Again!
  12. Well, I haven't seen him enough to know myself But I was under the impression that he is supposed to be good defensively. I know there has been a lot of raves about Dozier defensively this spring, but isn't that all relative to the fact that he has only played like 47 games at second base before the spring?
  13. Demotion motivates Dozier into new position | StarTribune.com From the story: "He’s (Dozier) headed north as the starting second baseman after a strong spring during which he established himself as the clear choice." Is there a genius out there who can explain to me how he is the clear choice over Eduardo Escobar when Escobar is batting .346 this spring to Dozier's .276? And Escobar, unlike Dozier, is not learning how to play 2B but has actually been doing it for years and has already established himself as capable at playing the infield in the majors?
  14. I think that references to alcohol and drug use should be included in this. If you really want this forum to not have any language that parents would not want their kids to see you should put a stop to all the talk and remarks that casually glorify drinking alcohol. This is constantly taking place on this forum.
  15. Swarzak will not be ready to start the season. Will he? Burnett is no good. Here's your pen: Perkins, Burton, Duensing, Fien, Perez, Wood, Pressley (someone will be replaced by Harden later in the year). Don't ignore the fact that Wood is awesome and is going to kill it this year. Best pen in baseball.
  16. Did anyone post this yet? http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_22629867/minnesota-twins-rich-harden-not-ready-rotation-yet
  17. If I recall things I've read over the years he is suppose to have great reviews character-wise from within the organization. Probably something that helps the team feel confident in him.
  18. The results of his medical tests, especially the bone marrow scan, as well as other aspects of the investigation into his age render it impossible that he is any older than 20 and easily leave it as far-fetched at best to believe he has been lying about his age.
  19. Yes! I knew he was for real! Thank you for doing the research and analysis that I am not capable of. Awesome article!
  20. That's funny. It is done by the Pioneer Press...
  21. I've long said that I support an amendment to the United States Constitution banning Tom Powers from ever speaking or writing about baseball again. I do not believe in limiting free speech in the USA, but this is the one case where it is clear that only benefit can be derived from so doing.
  22. I gotta agree with that. How can it be that Sano and Cabrera weigh the same? Just look at them, Sano looks so much thinner and wiry compared to Cabrera. Is this a muscle weighs more than fat thing? Cabrera is a blubbery chunk vs. Sano the stalwart stallion?
  23. That's incredible. You just blew my mind.
