  1. I like the Vlad comparison, but Walker will have to improve his contact rate to be closer to Vlad. Vlad hit good and bad pitches hard. If he improves his pitch recognition..........Wow! Just found this online: Walker at HR Derby
  2. Why is it that the entire FSL fails to have any game video highlights from any games this season? No team shows any highlights. The entire All Star game festivities are word of mouth. Not one video of one hit that weekend. Can you guys explain why?
  3. Sorry I'm joining conversation late - Not sure if you discussed already? I'd like to know your thoughts on AB Walkers performance at the All Star Game and HR Derby? I know the derby is just like BP, but how about 3-5 against the north all stars. Are you surprised? What will be the fall out with 24 draftees being signed? Who will fall where? Tomshaw or Wheeler should get promoted before Berrios in my opinion. Agree or disagree?
  4. I think more people should ask the pitchers in the leagues he plays against what they think of him? Are they fearful or do they expect to make him swing and miss? He can hit a good pitch or bad pitch 400+ feet when he gets a hold of it. His swing plane definitely varies. Must see video - (Must watch on conventional Desk Top or Lap Top / No "I Pads"). Should show highlights of only Walker hitting the ball if played on correct computer. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=adam+brett+walker+kernel+highlights&oq=adam+brett+walker+kernel+highlights&gs_l=youtube.12...2822.13731.0.16116.35.28.0.7.7.0.227.2607.16j10j1.27.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.617kUQFl_FQ Play the Adam Brett Walker Kernel Highlights Video (29 clips)

  7. Who was the last Twins Prospect to win either and / or both the MVP and Home Run Derby at the FSL All Star Game? Congrats - Big Fella http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp..._l123&sid=l123 and http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp..._milb&sid=milb

  10. I will end with this: I think Mauer is a HOF as well and warrants HOF consideration. I also think that a player who consistently leads his leagues in HRs and RBI should be considered higher than 15 on a prospect list. The word was he would struggle in the FSL because of plate discipline based on his OBP in the past. He is progressing just like last year and picking his game up as the season moves along. Would Walker be considered a rising prospect if he improved his OBP to .350 like Harrison and only 1 HR thru 60 games? Fans loved Dozier last year with a .312 OBP and a sub .250 BA - because he hit HRs and wasn't close to leading the league.
  11. How does a great knucleball rate next to a 95 MPH fastball? Even if you develop it once you're in the minors. If affective to the rate of a 0.99 WHIP - does / will it ever make you a prospect?
  12. Tomshaw and Tyler Jones must not be built right? All one does is win and the other just gets saves.
  13. Wickens needs to be back in AA. Great utility player (ala AJ). He's playing well for the Miracle.
  14. I'll be glad to see him play SS again (for the Twins or someone else). He has the talent to play SS. Exciting with his range and athleticism. He cut down his error% last year at SS (1st full season) and the Twins move him to 3rd base to see what Polanco can do. Polanco is an emergency SS at best and is still a solid everyday 2B. It's gotta suck having to play a new position without warning.
  15. 1) If AB Walker were to hit for 30 HRs and 110+ RBI in the (pitcher friendly) FSL - which he is on pace for (BTW) - But hit only .278 and held an OBP of .300 - Would he crack the Top 10 Prospect Rankings? Consider the new draft signees who might replace him in the current standings and also the fact that he is only 22 years old this season. 2) If you lead the league in HRs and RBI throughout each of your minor league stops (Rookie / A / A+ / AA / AAA) and your teams remain in 1st place at those stops - Would you eventually become a believer? or remain a skeptic because of the OBP? 3) Does being a winner ever become a factor? 4) Would Joe Mauer be considered a HOFer if he played 1st base throughout his career considering the other American League 1st basemen throughout his years? Would OBP and Average have been enough for Fans to consider him a STAR? Would his lack of production (HRs & RBI) have hurt him?
  16. As it pertains to how we rate prospects and Top players as fans........
  17. When do you embrace who a guy is? .250 to .270 BA and leads the league every year in HRs and RBI. Is that enough for you at the MLB level if he has a OBP of .300? Thats the question you need to ask yourself. And his team is always in 1st place?
  18. Why is vargas hitting better in AA than A+? Isn't the Eastern league suppose to be a hitters league as opposed to FSL?
  19. Can you see any Miracle players moving up to AA by July 1st? and Why? Could you see a AA line-up like this at some point in this season: 1) Buxton (CF) 2) Polanco (SS) 3) Rosario (2B) 4) Sano (DH) 5) Vargas (1B) 6) Walker (RF) 7) R. Rodriguez (LF) 8) Koch © 9)Wickens (3B) And if you did - Would they struggle or likely be as potent as Cedar Rapids or Miracle were in 2013?
  20. The fact is: The HR rate in the MLB is much higher than the FSL; Eastern League; or International League. MLB parks as a whole are smaller in demensions I guess. Meaning if you can play - You should hit more in the MLB than some of the parks you play in at the MiLB level (minors). Maybe he's just doing Oswaldo and having more success with HRs as opposed to balls in the gap that MLB fielders can get to? http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140205&content_id=66911570&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
  21. I'll quote you here for future reference
  22. The Miracle need to find their team Home Run strokes. As a team the Miracle have 18 Home Runs this half (minus AB Walker). [Gonzales 5 - Polanco 4 - Hicks 2 - Turner 2 - Kepler 2 - Harrison 1 - Mejia 1 - Goodrum 1]. Last year in Cedar Rapids many of these same guys would have totaled 45 Home Runs as a team in their respective half of a seasons. [Hicks 13 - J.D. Wiiliams 8 - Kepler 9 - Harrison 10 - Gonzales 5]. This obviously doesn't show a true comparison with a seasons 1st half, but it does show some of the Power numbers these guys have been capable of in a respective half of season. All of these guys have some serious power - So why isn't it showing in games? Maybe they are concentrating too much on being better hitters and not tapping in to what they do best. The Miracle are so much better than their numbers show. IMO Great Game Wheeler!!
  23. As I said earlier - I wish you the best AJ. That being said: I would love to know your prospect rankings for the Twins as you had the pleasure to watch and play with these guys in Spring Training and beyond. I hope you stay involved with Twins Daily becuase like Jeremy said - You give such a different perspective on the make up of these guys as a true insider. I don't want you to lose friendships over your thoughts but would love to hear a more personal outlook on the TWins future (from 1 man's view).
  24. Walker hits FSL leading 14th Home Run last night as the Miracle remain in first place by 1.5 games. Walker leads the FSL with 14 HRs & 109 TB. He ranks second in RBI by 1 with 50. These are his rankings thru 60 games this season. 80 more game to go - to keep it in perspective:) Tomshaw tames Flying Tigers in 4-3 victory Walker homers, Tomshaw earns sixth straight win http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140607&content_id=78754746&fext=.jsp&vkey=recap&sid=t509
