  1. Last year, Citizen's park was 11th in HRs and Target was 14th...so not much difference...and overall Target played more of a hitter's park than Citizen's bank. Source: ESPN MLB Park Factors.
  2. He was coming off injury, wasn't he?
  3. He's got a minor league career ERA under 2.00 (this last season 1.24). He's averages over 12 Ks per 9IP (13.9 this year). He doesn't give up the long ball (1 HR allowed this year). The only knock on him is he walks a bit too many which is the kiss of death for a Twins prospect. People see numbers like that, they understandably ask why. I don't see why that's such a bad question. The argument is, if he was worth bringing up they would have? Why? Because the Twins have shown themselves to be great judges of pitching talent lately?
  4. Seems every offseason we get to say, 'we need a 3B, a shortstop and a 2B'. Since Santana left, we added starting pitchers.
  5. He strikes out a lot and he walks a lot...the exact opposite of a Twins pitcher. It's funny, they even said too many of his strikeouts are caught looking strikeouts which are, apparently, less valuable than swinging strikeouts
  6. AT&T park is one of the 5 best pitchers park in baseball and allowed the least amount of HR in baseball. Target Field is the 10th best hitter's park. (Source: http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor ) So he'd be better coming here AND facing AL lineups? I personally feel he'll have a bounce back year next year...he's been too good for too long to think it was all a fluke. He'll get his issues fixed and be back to being a fine pitcher next year
  7. I don't remember Cuddyer ever whining about the ability to hit HR at TF. If he did, that'd be interesting since the two years his home park was TF he hit exactly the same amount of HR at home as on the road... I remember Morneau speaking for the team about it...and getting ridiculed for daring to do so...even though, at the time, he was having an MVP type season that ended up getting derailed by the concussion
  8. we must be horrible at crap shoots, cause we haven't won a playoff game in our last 12 playoff games. 0-12 crap shoot? Who is The Cooler?
  9. They re-signed him though...in August...to a pricey contract.
  10. Fair enough...and perhaps you're right. I don't agree, but I can see where one might give want to give him the benefit of the doubt. As for the rest, perhaps I overreacted. I apologize for that. And thanks for compliment as well.
  11. One could argue that since we preach pitch to contact, solid defense up the middle is imperative and would help our pitching immensely
  12. I posted what I interpreted as a sound example of straight up lying...apparently some disagree, you being one of them I see...but that's a difference of opinion. As I see it, it was straight up lying...so I called it that way. I am, of course, open to the idea I'm wrong though...always have been, but I haven't seen any convincing argument that I misinterpreted...certainly someone saying what I wrote was a load of crap isn't a convincing argument... And I don't think one lie makes one a liar all the time...I believe his comment was a straight up lie, not that he's a straight up liar.
  13. I don't think anyone is gonna get over on Theo Epstein and Hoyer
  14. Seriously? Do you like having people you don't know and haven't had any interaction with call what you wrote a load of crap? Is that just normal polite talk where you come from?
  15. So...Baker, Gibson, Diamond, Marcum (maube) and maybe, Deduno?
  16. No, I read it, if that's the best you've got, I think you need to keep looking. Thanks for your opinion...
  17. I don't care if you think it's a load of crap, but I believe I already gave an example above...do I need to re-post or can you find it yourself? Oh, and I LOVE how people talk all big, bad and rude on the internet...gives me goosebumps.
  18. 'My plan for pitching would be to sign Bedard and Jackson for (roughly) $15 mil a year total.' You'd sign Jackson but then not put him on your roster? :-)
  19. I think multiple organizations would be interested in him if he wasn't protected...his stats are too hard to ignore.
  20. No, he wasn't...I was wondering if he was added though after the cuts were made.
  21. Any word on Slama yet?
  22. another worthless first rounder...
  23. Lately, when have the Twins put any kind of emphasis on the infield? Smith made an effort in 2010, then in the offseason prior to 2011, didn't keep Hudson and let Gardy convince him to trade Hardy. That's it. Doesn't seem middle infield or 3B is a concern to them. No way they can look at the internal options and, based on performance at the major league level, be satisfied with where they stand.
