  1. Shibuya sealed it with a CGSO only 3 hits and 9 SO, this kid seems to just keep getting better and better
  2. K we should take zimmer because if anyone knows anything about advanced sabremetrics, a good percentage players whos last name starts with Z are successful... Zito, zambrano, Ziegler, zimmermman, zobrist, Zisk... Etc... I think im on to something here!
  3. Oh and on that note arod started seeing major league time when he was 18 and he was a very similar offensively at that age. Only thing sano would need is some better defense which can be learned as he moves up
  4. Thats the million dollar question ist it? .... Cough.... Sano.... Cough
  5. Anyone else notice this guy has been putting on a clinic down in AA NBR since being being promoted? His line: AB: 49 Avg: 388 Obp: 412 Slg: .816 Ops: 1.228 HR:4 2B:3 3B:3 only 2 BB but also only 10 SO Hes got a small ammount of Majors experience in 2009 and 2011 and performed well. He hasnt been the most productive guy with his long resume of minors experience, but im hoping that is just because of the farms he was affiliated with. Maybe the Twins figured something out? At 26 if he can continue to perform this way he could really be an asset in the near future and move up the ladder quickly. He has some power, can get on base and steal. He strikes out a fair ammount but those numbers have reall declined over the last couple of years (especially since joining the twins org.) not the best glove in the OF but serviceable Thoughts?
  6. Maybe im assuming, but it seems the twins will typically only sign HS aged players out of the dominican and usually draft Native players out of college. Whether there is truth to that or not I think its a good strategy. The success rate of drafting out of college is obviously easier because one can predict with more accuracy what your gonna get.
  7. Cmon bullpen diamond more than deserves this win
  8. I think the Twins know exactly what all of our pitchers can do as Starters. Only player that will maybe pan out is Diamond. The rest would come as a really pleasan surprises. We do have some guys in the lower minors we can definitely put a little faith in, but we really need to reach outside of the org. for several starters that can be consistent for the near future. (and lets all pray baker and gibson can eventually rebound).
  9. I know its frustrating this year. Its obvious there is accountability issues from top to bottom with this team. At the beginning of this season it looked like we had a very solid team offensively, and a half-descent pitching staff. Well this didnt turn out like expected. The thing that frustrates me is everyone from the homer Twins announcers down to the team are buttering things up so much. People are so afraid to talk anything negative about this team it makes us fans feel like we are a bunch of idiots.
  10. I think his track record proves he is much more effective in the bullpen. The way I view it, is if he is going to start there is something seriously wrong going on. I am more comfortable if they keep throwing all these AAA guys in to start and leave duensing in the bullpen. I would rather see swarzak start even though his numbers in the bullpen are not as good. Maybe the team is taking on a new strategy, if there arnt any starters that can get us deep in the game then lets have a bullpen full of long relievers?
  11. I think masti will do well as a utility guy till he gets more experience. If they use Komatsu as solely a pinch runner I'm ok with that I really don't think he's worth starting any day of the week, his swing is attrocious and his fielding is dime a dozen
  12. Komatsu has one of the worst looking swings.....
  13. Why do we have komstsu and why do we play him every day?
  14. by no means am I letting hardy off the hook, I totally agree that production is a reflection of leadership. My point was that people are getting upset over the moves that have been happening and I believe their getting mad for the wrong reasons
  15. Maybe this has already been said but mr slama has just over 15IP and 26K.. But 10BB.... Anyone know if most those walks were from when he came back from injury? Has he settled down? Because his other stats are looking pretty awesome. I have always liked this kid
  16. With all the demotions and callups going on lately, I've been seeing a lot of upset fans. I was surprised reading so many flaming gardy for demoting Valencia. Personally I like what's happening. This is not for the fact that well get to see some good prospects come up and play, but because for once management is growing a spine. For years I have been saying this team needs to keep their players more accountable for their performance. Gardy has been always soo touchy feely with guys, that I think it hurts struggling players by keeping them complacent. maybe gardy sees that his job is on the line and wants to go out guns ablazing and maybe he can actually change something. Personally I'm not a fan of do or die management, but I have a firm belief if your not performing then you don't get to play, instead you practice you butt off and get your head straight Sorry for bad writing in on my phone
  17. wait are you saying that there are people in the area that care how well the redwings do outside of trying to build players for the twins?
  18. It took a-rod until the majors to gain much glove
  19. Dingger no. 9 tonight... Calling NBR
  20. Oh by the way sano hit two more homeruns today one in each game of a double header...
  21. Well boys the runnless streak ended at 24 innings funny how the most fun weve had watching is seeing how long it would last
  22. The 2007 braves almost hit the 4 game streak think they were the most recent and the closest to the record i believe, they were shutout 30 innings
  23. Oops spoke a little soon... No. 8 tonight as well it was a double header
  24. The record for most consecutive innings shut out is 48 by the 1906 philadelphia A's and also the 69 cubs... Also the most games being shut-out consecutively is 4 which has been accomplished 11 times most recently by the same 69 cubs only reason there is so many innings is because i believe one of those shutouts went like 21 innings or something
