  1. As I mentioned in the Strib comments, Pucket's $5.6 million in 1993 was among the highest salaries in baseball at the time. And those idiots complaining about Mauer's contract seem to not understand that a player of Puckett's calibur in 2012 wouldn't in hell agree to a $5.6 million salary in the free agent market.

  3. So who scores more, the Twins tonight, or the Vikings on Sunday?
  4. And after another touchdown, Parmelee tacks on a field goal!
  5. There are only two players that qualify for the batting title who's SLG is lower than their OBP. The Twins have both of them (Revere and Carroll) Also, Revere and Carroll are the only regulars in the Majors that do not have a home run.
  6. Chris Parmelee: Mr. September
  7. http://www.kare11.com/news/article/988779/391/Report-Twins-Joe-Mauer-placed-on-waiver-wire?odyssey=tab|topnews|bc|large 99% chance nothing happens, but interesting nonetheless.
  8. You don't think Hernandez earned his win? Do you really think I was talking about Hernandez with my post?
  9. And tonight is a fine example of why the W-L record is the most useless stat in sports.
  10. **** it, this team is going nowhere anyway. If I was running the team, the first pitch from Swarzak would've gone right back to Hamilton just like Diamond's.
  11. 3-0 count and a fastball right in his upper back. You damn right it was intentional. And Diamond gets tossed for a retalitory pitch that doesn't even hit Hamilton and with no warning from Wally Bell. So in the end, we lose our pitcher, Hamilton goes unscathed, and Oswalt remains in the game.
  12. **** you, Wally Bell!!! **** you right in your ****ing neck!
  13. Hamilton better watch it. He might get one in the ribcage tonight.
  14. They'll be rubbing his groin for 6 weeks until they realize that all he had was an ear infection.
  15. Batting 2nd and playing 2nd is back!
  16. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/exclusive-daily-news-uncovers-bizarre-plot-melky-cabrera-fake-website-duck-drug-suspension-article-1.1139623 Really, there are no words to describe the stupidity of him thinking he would get away with this.
  17. Dick: "It's national left-handed day, and I've been trying to do everything with my left hand today." Bert: "...everything?"
  18. Plouffe should be back by Friday, so it's likely Nishioka won't have to endure that.
  19. Is Japanese baseball really that different from the rest of the world where you all of a sudden forget how to handle routine defensive plays that your average high school infielder can accomplish?
  20. I just got home and didn't see the play. Was it hilarious?
  21. The Cleveland Indians are the gift that keeps on giving.
  22. "Shades of Bill Buckner." Uh...no, Dick. It's not.
  23. And when Nishioka isn't sucking, he's being extremely unlucky.
  24. "Twins have gotten a lot of home runs via the home run." - Bert
