  1. Well I'm happy to be one of you! Well Kendrick has thrown 47 pitches but id be nice to take on another 2 runs and get him out of there
  2. not a double but got a hit. I'm so excited that this team is playing up to its potential. Mostly Plouffe, I have gotten so much grief for being a big Plouffe backer for the last 3 years. Happy I didn't lose hope or back off my opinion. hes making me look smart.
  3. Love it. They say he needs his arm to be tired to pitch better. Why not let him go to 120 if hes pitching well?
  4. nice leadoff homerun from Span!!
  5. In my blog I have Gibson in the rotation which he will be. I also had us signing dempster and bedard. They are players that will be cheap enough and will sign 2-3 year deals. With those three along with diamond and Hendriks with Walters next in will be a major difference to the start of the season. When you take liriano Pavano baker and marquis contracts off the books that will be enough to extend diamond Walters and Hendriks while also paying for one of the FA starters and a chunk of the others. They will be able to afford it. I also mentioned in mine that they won't really sign any bats because they have enough where they feel like they can compete. I believe we can with what we got for bats. Another thing to keep in mind was how difficult the schedule was to start the year. If the twins keep winning series they will be contenders for the division and at the trade deadline they could get dempster which would make it easier to sign him next season.
  6. I mention that I would trade Blackburn for whatever I could get.
  7. Starting Pitching- Ryan Dempster Erik Bedard Scott Diamond Kyle Gibson Liam Hendriks Bull Pen Brian Duensing- long reliever Anthony Swarzak- long reliever Alex Burnett- middle reliever Deolis Guerra- middle reliever Jared Burton- RH setup man Glen Perkins- LH setup man Lester Oliveros- closer Starting Lineup LF- Josh Willingham CF- Denard Span RF- Ben Revere 1B- Justin Morneau 2B- Brian Dozier SS- Trevor Plouffe 3B- Danny Valencia C- Joe Mauer DH- Ryan Doumit Bench Jamey Carroll Chris Parmelee Drew Butera Wilkin Ramirez I don't think that the Twins are going to chase after relievers this year. They seem to feel that they have plenty of arms there to fill holes and still have depth in the minors. I believe that it is possible that the Twins will have Oliveros close instead of Perkins because they like him as their lefty setup man. I feel that they know their starting rotation needs some work and some front line starters. I don't think they will be able to get Greinke or Hamels so I feel that they will go the little cheaper route with Bedard, and Dempster will be the one that they will spend a bit more one. With Plouffe playing much better defense at 3B, I think that they will be willing to slide him back to short. I realize that the defense doesn't look too promising but it is what it is. The Twins are probably going to give Valencia another chance before giving up on him and trading him for a grounds crew worker. I don't have Blackburn on here because I hope that he is packaged for some minor leaguer. I also think that Span might get sent elsewhere with Blackburn and or Capps for one great minor leaguer or a couple decent ones. That would move Revere to center leaving him as the everyday starter there and leadoff man. In that scenario, Parmelee and Ramirez would platoon right field. Some of the players would have to be signed to new deals. After signing them and the free agents payroll should sit at about the same as this season, give or take 10 million dollars. I think that it is a competing group what about you guys? Thoughts? Your own theories?

  9. What are they playing at?! I wanted gausman in the first round because he was a starter! Then they take a outfielder but o well we have plenty other high picks to invest on starters. We have not drafted a starting prospect yet! In the first 2 and comp rounds! What is there deal. I no fans don't know as much as scouts and front office personnel, but any dummy can see that we haven't addressed a single need yet. What a joke. I can't believe I've let myself be fooled into thinking they realize that they need to change their philosophy in order to save our minor league system.
  10. after the first and comp rounds hes still there. maybe we take him in the second?
  11. The Twins select Luke Bard From Georgia Tech (Daniel Bard's brother)

  13. twins just picked a HS pitcher from puerto rico
  14. Burnett sure isnt looking injured or sore at all tonight. good to see
  15. I was hoping we could piece this game together without perkins/burton/capps... Hopefully we score one or two more so we won't need them
  16. nice inning for Burnett
  17. Well that went well.... I would have sent him out there also so I'm not saying it was anyones fault
  18. I was hoping people would be worried about Giolito and let him slip to us. No such luck. So now you go with BPA (Best Pitcher Available)
  19. I said that I thought Gausman was the top pitcher in the draft, and therefore the Twins should pick him. With that said I like Buxton and will support him as a Twins fan from now until he busts or is traded. Best of luck to him. Hope hes everything the Twins think he is and more.
  20. Let's hope this works out!
  21. Gausman 10-1, 2.84 ERA, 15 GS, 1072/3 IP, 93 H, 38 R, 34 ER, 24 BB, 125 K Low walk and high strike out rates. He recently switched to a slider and it has been steadily improving as he has been throwing it. He has been gaining control with his change up which is said to be "major league ready." How many pitching prospects come out with a plus breaking ball and plus arm strength? Buxton hasn't shown power or much offense for the level of competition he has played against. I rather trust a pitcher to tune his pitches with major league help than a batter to learn how to bat. He might have great defense but to me he won't be anything more than a Hicks, talented but cant put it together to be an all-star player which is what you want with the second pick. He has too many question marks to draft at 2.
  22. As far as position players go I feel that Correa is a better pick than Buxton. And i feel that if Gausman, who resently started throwing a slider instead of a curve, develops a nice breaking ball that he can get strike outs with he will be an "Ace" type pitcher.
  23. Gausman could also be in the majors as soon as 2014 where buxton is more likely 2017ish
  24. 1) Gausman 2) Giolito 3) Correa. If Gausman and Buxton both pan out, which one would you rather have? Number 1-2 starter or another span like player?
