  1. Are they left-handed? Check. I have to concur.
  2. There's isolated discipline (IsoD), same thing as ISO for power, just OBP-BA.
  3. I don't even care if he turns out to be terrible, I just want the chance to see it. Hell, we've had three years of confirmation now that Drew Butera is an epically putrid hitter, why can't we get one month of Slamatime?
  4. Sounds like a winner to me.
  5. Looking up wOBA on FG's, their calculation uses .89 per single, and .69 per walk. Or roughly 1.3 times as much. You cheated didn't you? Admit it, you're a closet basement-dweller.
  6. I have no idea what happened.
  7. Piazza didn't get shifted, with the exception of half a season at first, and his final season at DH, he spent his entire career behind the plate.
  8. Another 7 innings for the bullpen today. But none for Slama.
  9. I voted 'no' again, because every vote that I've made has turned out to be wrong. Here's to keeping a good (for the team) and bad (for me) streak going.
  10. I like Bert the national broadcaster quite a bit more than Bert the Twins broadcaster.
  11. If he's healthy, and if he could work his way back to a mid-7's strikeout rate.
  12. .95? Seems way too high. The last article I read (albeit a bit dated), had it somewhere in the mid-80's, with OBP and SLG on their own being in the low 90's, and OPS in the (as you noted) high 90's.
  13. He would be a fine reliever to have around for a million or two, as the fourth or fifth option out of the pen.
  14. Appreciate the update. Even if it is useless! *duck*
  15. Yeah, they draw too many walks, hit too many homers, and score too many runs. They need to hit for a better average like the Royals.
  16. First two pitches no where near the zone, third pitch right down the center. This should end well.
  17. 1. No, it's strictly the results of the batter/pitcher matchup. 2. Yes, small samples can potentially make a huge difference. 3. It's not intended for any kind of talent evaluation. Per its creator, "WPA is not a way to evaluate the talent of a player."
  18. It may not be as bad as advertised, but it was still ****.
  19. Showing a bias is one thing, unabashed homerism is another entirely.
  20. I like WPA, it's a fun tool, and nice to look at when you don't feel like digging into the depths of a player's situational numbers.
  21. You could get two or three Capps for that money. Or maybe some middle infield help. Or starting pitching help. Or new carpet in the corporate offices.
  22. Capps isn't the kind of "closer" that you "need." He's nothing more than a decent reliever, certainly not someone worth what you're paying plus a draft pick.
  23. Only about 50 times over the last decade.
