  1. Has to be extremely frustrating. We need a hitter added to this team... Sooner than later.
  2. If you could get a Gunnar Henderson or that type of young player with some team control with one of those three, pitchers, a top prospect and Lewis, do it. They have Ryan, Ober and Lopez coming back. This window of high quality pitching cannot last long with FA coming into play after next season.
  3. Been saying this all season. Now they are back at .500, actually comfortably over, and in the playoff hunt… trading Festa or Matthews and another prospect for a proven bat would make a huge difference in the offense. This pitching staff is for real, need to go for it while they are still together and affordable.
  4. I have been steady all season, calling for the dismissal of Rocco (which I now retract), believing we have a top 1/3 rotation and above average closer and weren’t going to be able to muster any consistent offense to win series and get back to.500. Finally was able to watch most of this series and they are a different team. Not sure what has changed, Lewis , non-factor, Castro solid utility guy… Rocco a more traditional approach. Im back and ready to enjoy the season regardless of results… except yankees, we need to compete against them.
  5. Hockey players they are not. Regardless playing great fundamental ball, I will eat crow after being a downer for most of the early season. They have become a very entertaining team to watch. Ill keep MLB for the future.
  6. What an outside the box idea…. bringing up your young talent that are producing in the minors. Some organizations just seem to be more interested in trying to reward production at the minor league level rather than letting them sit for years.
  7. I would think you start by brining up players that are performing in the minors. There are several candidates/options. But like many floundering organizations they value team control over on field performance.
  8. Game probably over, professional approach by the top of their order.... Something we know nothing about.
  9. Why is Lewis still in St.Paul? Let him rehab with the team. Gasper, Julien, , Clemens... I don't care who he replaces, when he can play Lee can go to second and the defense is automatically upgraded. Plus he will probably hit over .140, it's a win win.
  10. I agree about batting cleanup, but he has been looking pretty decent lately, for our low standards, I would go 2nd or 3rd.
  11. I'm not convinced that the talent is the issue. I would take this starting rotation over 3/4 of the league... maybe more. They have a reliable closer and an adequate BP. The position players are playing dbelow average, at least for now. But I don't believe they should be playing sub .400 ball the past 5 months, not with this rotation and the quality starts they usually deliver.... and that is my reasoning for removing Rocco. Hell, most experts had us winning the division, it's not going to happen with Rocco.
  12. I like Rocco, the heartwarming story on the child cancer patient and Rocco having him at the ball park was awesome..... However, whether it's BP usage, pulling SP early, leading off with M. Gasper, w/l record in 1 run and extra inning games would suggest it's time to move on. The end of last season and the start of the 25 season just validates how bad things are. So the game Tuesday night is irrelevant, it's just Rocco being himself... a below average major league manager
  13. If someone has the will, I would be curious of Rocco’s record in 1-2 run games and extra innings. It has to be one of the worst in MLB the past 2-3 seasons.
  14. Shocking, Clemens with the.083 BA can’t deliver.
  15. Lively is serviceable, but we should be able to string hits and score against this guy.
  16. As the manager i hope he knows what the philosophy is in that situation.
  17. Why is Larnach not in RF and Jeffers at DH. Clemens is crap, but need to get him in. Brodie would work at DH, Clemens doesn’t need to start… that’s on Rocco
  18. WTF are we doing….. running on contact another Rocco philosophy and follow that up with MLB no talent in Clemens and that’s how you don’t score with runners on 1st and 2nd w/ no outs. Rocco has to go.
  19. I don’t even know this team… WTH, actually playing sound fundamental ball.
  20. Nothing new, 1st & 2nd, no outs.... zero runs. It's like you have to try to be this bad.
  21. Exactly... I'm bunting there Everytime with Bader at the plate. Get the lead back, I guess if Julien comes through.
  22. Maybe this massive crowd can inject some life into the boys.
  23. This team has a starting rotation that can win games. Lopez, Ryan, Ober and get Matthews up here like yesterday is a top 1/3 rotation. Duran is a viable closer. The issue as everyone can see is there is zero team speed, terrible defense, awful plate approach and just the lack of fundamental baseball. Some of the issues are not on Rocco, but he sets the tone on pulling starting pitchers, using Duran in non closer situations, sitting players that may have finally broken their hitting slump, and like the article points out... treating games like wins aren't valued..... how many get away games does/ has he just thrown out lineups that are due to fail. He's not the only problem , he's just the biggest one.
  24. Pretty much posted the same thing last year. Live in Wisconsin and am married to a diehard Brewer fan and watch a lot of Brewer games. Their approach at: the plate, stealing bases, running bases, emphasis on defense, bullpen usage is night and day difference. Murphy is 10X the manager that Rocco is. Players are asked to put the team first, including bunting to advance runners, just a refreshing brand of baseball. Paying to watch the Twins on MLB is like burning money. The offense is brutal and Rocco's approach to pretty much everything is questionable at best. It really is time to pull the bandaid while there is enough season left to turn things around. Can it be done??? I honestly believe it can. We have a quality starting rotation and Duran looks great again. Those two areas are reason for optimism.
