    And Brian forgot that Iowa also has an abundance of soybeans and cattle. Your sheep are a little more rare although we did have a lamb packing plant in a neighboring town until several years ago so maybe not as rare as I might think.

    I just think they didn't want to draw lines across and through the state.     The entire state of Iowa is Cubs/Royals/White Sox/Twins/Brewers/Cardinals territory. It sucks if you rely on mlb tv or many cable stations. It is great if you are on Dish because you get all of their local sports networks in many dish packages. Not sure about Direct TV and whether you still have to buy extra innings.

    I don't think it is surprising that Mauer was booed. I don't know if I'd call it outrage or frustration (and it sounds like he was frustrated himself). He has a line of .194/.380/.389/.769 with RISP in 2014. For his career, he has a line of .330/.452/.477/.929. So he has a pretty substantial drop-off this year. It isn't surprising that people would boo when he doesn't come through in the late innings with runners on base. And little posts like this one from Phil Mackey aren't going to quell the booing: Phil Mackey ‏@PhilMackey 47m Per @Fangraphs, Mauer has been worth $500,000 so far this year. He was worth $26 million and $22m in 2013 and 2012. (D and position matter)

    LOL. I liked to do that as a kid. But at some point I just got to the point where I couldn't stand them unless the yolk and white were well-combined. Even if I eat a hard-boiled egg (maybe once a year), I have to mush the white and yolk together.

    Fuld saw a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh. Initial report was positive per Berardino .... but who knows if that's the whole story.
