  1. Meh, Truman became POTUS and he arguably had about as much "qualifications" as trump: Multiple time failed business owner? Check Put into policitics to begin with as a more or less joke? Check Super big long shot prior to the conventions? Check Even with momentum a long shot to ever become acting POTUS? Check I mean we all know Truman came in and didn't make any huge decisions that changed the course of WORLD history, right? Wait.....****. We are ****ed.
  2. That's actually mostly wrong Kirk, it was officially announced 3 days after the date I said it would be. It was still agreed to between the two parties by that date though (though those contracts that big usually get delayed at times because lawyers like to lawyer) but I nailed the years and the dollar amount to a T. Apologize Kab!!
  3. Does the ban get lifted it ends up getting announced in the evening or late night?
  4. I posted it on the forums, not in a blog, I never claimed to be a part of Twinsdaily officially no make no mention of such. It's very obvious I am an INDIVIDUAL poster. But like I said, it is what it is, I don't think anybody assumed or though this was a "TwinsDaily endorsed official statement" or something. The owners/mods/etc do a great job overall, but in cases like this I think they are taking themselves a bit to seriously/more important then what is reality. At the end of the day it's a baseball blog site....let's keep things in perspective.
  5. They don't, I can confirm now that Calhoun's name has not been floated. The chances that he is included is about as great as the chances of Santiago being included....i.e. 1 in 1,000
  6. It's not false hope in the least though...definitely not a cruel joke. The deal structure is in place, they just need to close it out, as I said, my source says it will be tomorrow and De Leon is the centerpiece with one of Avalrez of the masher as the 2nd piece 3rd and possible 4th are up in the air. guess we all shall see?
  7. I think Santana's value will be higher this year at the trade deadline. I like Santana and all, but you can always find mid rotation guys on the FA market without having to give up assets to trade for one. Inevitably one team contending will be short a solid pitcher come the deadline, trade him then.
  8. In all seriousness: Yeah that's pretty close I imagine. Kepler probably a "closer" comparison at this stage TBH. Since Gordan is still very raw?
  9. I never told people they couldn't be skeptical. Nobody is infallible, but I am close
  10. Exactly! I suppose I could have hedged it a little and said "by the end of the winter meetings" but I decided to just say what I was told. This person is convinced it's all but a done deal. If they are "wrong"? Meh. I won't hold a grudge, will just stick them with the next bar tab.
  11. Non taken, like I said originally (that I think was edited out?) I don't claim to be a blogger, journalist or anything of the sort, nor have any desire. I like making money to much and my grammar is that of a 8 year olds anyways. In my life/career I have made friends with some folks in various front offices at orgs in baseball, football and a tiny bit in hockey. I was texting this gal or guy over the past few days re: trade talks, I got the news today that it was all but done. I asked if I could post to some other twins fans and I got a chuckle back in return and a "Sure" since there was already a ton of smoke on this anyways. As mentioned it's all about the last piece (4th piece) if it even ends up having a 4th piece. Stay tuned!
  12. Turns out He left that job a year ago, he didn't have anything nice to say about the guys politics. Said he's a good enough person however....... Going to roll back regulations decades, count on it.
  13. I don't think anyone would think that anyways. Not sure how much I like you changing the title, but it is what it is.
  14. My personal preference would be De Leon and Alvarez. This system needs upside pitchers biiiiigggggg time. I get the sense that the Twins new FO would prefer this as well...I mean look at how Cleveland built a winner: pitching pitching pitching.
  15. I mean that's all up to one persons interpraration of talent. I think it will fall short a bit, but De Leon + Alvarez or Bellinger is a nice package. I do like the nationals package more though, no doubt. But Eaton as mentioned previously has more value
  16. Nothing wrong with taking some time to let the body and mind heal. The baseball grind is a tough one. 162 games, 81 on the road plus another 30-50 with ST and playoffs.
  17. That is my buddies boss, I will try to get the scoop on what Pruitt is really like.
  18. Holy ****, CNN had on some union leader and trump in REAL time tweeted some nonsense about the interview. One would think he has more important things to do at this stage then watch CNN all day....
  19. De Leon, Alvarez or Bellinger, 3rd and 4th aren't sure yet, but honestly, don't get your hopes up for those last two players (or one player) They likely will be 20-30 org top prospects, not top ten. That SS Lux is definitely off the table as a 3rd piece.
  20. Gomez, man, what a frustrating cat he was.
