    This one was different because they gave up two good prospects for him and got essentially nothing in return. Pretty sure he was damaged goods and Cincinnati knew it when they sent him to us.

    I never fully understood why the Twins didn’t try to sign Mahle off his injury season. I believe he was a free agent at that point and they probably just couldn’t meet his salary demands or they were hesitant because of him coming off the surgery. I don’t think they ever considered it.

    It’s been this way for years. I don’t anticipate a change anytime soon. They’ve got lots of other things to work on I guess.

    Don’t forget the pitcher can field it over there, and besides that it’s really hard for these guys that never bunt to actually put a bat on the ball. When they do try it usually ends up in a miss or a pop-up that’s easily caught. I am all for taking an outside pitch and just poking it through the hole.

    Twins hitters are doing an experiment. Starting with the last game against Philly, they decided to see how many runs they needed to give their pitchers in the first inning or two to see what the minimum would be that would hold up. Five didn’t but four did so they’re trying two tonight.

    I can’t find it on Twins daily right now Shelton‘s interview after the game yesterday really ticked me off. He admitted he was frustrated but in regards to Kramer he said that he was just fine out there and that the Phillies just got to him.

    The bullpen will be taxed tonight. Bailey is averaging over 20 pitches an inning. He’ll be lucky to go five unless that changes.

    I’m sick of Buxton. He’s always been a streaky hitter at best. And when he’s going bad, there’s no hope for him. He’ll swing at pitches all over the place.
