  1. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/dodgers-agree-sign-cuban-second-baseman-omar-estevez/#mjoGokgSSYQZFPB3.97 How about this for a third piece. Dodger's 12 rated prospect. Cuban 18 year who can play 2nd or 3rd. He had 60 RBI in rookie ball last year.
  2. Why don't they just take Deleon, Alverez and Stewart (who they have at least asked about) and call it a day. That is two MLB ready pitchers and Alverez who is a ways off. Works for me.
  3. Gleeman and the Geek show's John Bonnes said one of the rumors is the Twins not only want Deleon but Bellinger as well in a package. So that is apparently what the hold up is. - the Twins wanting the Dodger's top two prospects plus more (Stewart?). I get the feeling that the Dodgers will probably be moving onto some other second baseman trade soon if that is the case.
  4. If the Dodgers sign Turner, Jansen, and Holland with only one 40 man spot on their roster. That leaves them with two extra on their forty man. Twins could probably get a major league outfielder or starting pitcher out of this Dozier deal. Dodgers just have too many people. Not sure I'm too excited about Kazmir as one example.
  5. Woah! Ken Rosenthal. "Sources: #Dodgers close on both Turner AND Jansen." I wonder how that effects Dozier trade. I know Dodgers have only one spot on their 40 man roster.
  6. Dave's last update at the reddit account was Deleon, rhp, Alverez, rhp, a AAAA prospect and possibly a player to be named later. He said it was their final offer. I am not totally discounting what he is saying because it does seem like the Dodgers are wanting to get the Turner deal and Jansen deal figured out before they complete a possible trade with the Twins. If Turner didn't resign they would have to be possibly shipping prospects to the White Sox for Frazier. So let's hope Turner signs if you are wanting the Twins to deal for Deleon and Alverez, two high ceiling pitchers who could really help the Twins in a year or two. Our pitching was SO bad last year.
  7. I meant not listed as an infielder.
  8. I was looking at the Twins 25 and 40 man roster on the team website and I find it curious that Sano is not listed as a third baseman anymore but instead as a DH. I know defense is not his strong point. Do the new front office dudes not plan to play him in the field anymore but just as a DH? Are they planning to keep Plouffe around another year?
  9. Twins scored 724 runs this year and were ninth out of 15 American League teams. That's not terrible. And it seemed like in September they didn't hardly score at all because they were on such a losing slide.
  10. It's interesting if Chad Allen gets the hitting coach job that he basically has been the hitting coach at one time or another for Sano, Rosario, Kepler, and Buxton in his time at several twins Minor League affiliates. This past season he was at Rochester. Before that he was at Chatanooga.
  11. It was in Sid's column yesterday. Here it is. • The word around Target Field is that Twins pitching coach Neil Allen, hitting coach Tom Brunansky, assistant hitting coach Rudy Hernandez and first base coach Butch Davis won’t return to work for Paul Molitor next season. Bench coach Joe Vavra, bullpen coach Eddie Guardado and third base coach Gene Glynn have a good chance of returning. Some talk on the radio that maybe Chad Allen might join the staff in Bruno's place.
  12. http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2016/04/04/indians-assistant-general-manager-derek-falvey-says-the-off-season-goal-was-to-supplement-the-core-pieces/ Here is an interview on radio with him. Sounds like a sharp, well-spoken guy. I'm on board.
  13. We apparently aren't going to spend any money on relievers this year. Why not throw 8 or 9 million dollars at Austin Jackson as a 4th outfielder who can play all 3 outfield positions and mash lefties. He is still unsigned and I remember the Twins talking about possibly signing an outfielder. A Jackson signing would mean we wouldn't have to watch Sano and Arcia in the same outfield.
  14. Doogie from 1500ESPN said Torey Luvullo nailed his interview with the Twins. Here is some good video of him being interviewed as a Triple A manager. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzohgvB4kD0 He sounds like he knows what he is talking about.
  15. What are the odds Bautista has a homerun versus his favorite team to face, the Twins, tonight?
  16. Florimon is 2 for 28 after today. Ouch.
  17. Forgot to put that he just got DFAed.
  18. From MLBTraderumors. "Taylor is a once-hyped prospect who, at age 28, has never really seen much time at the MLB level. After a strong effort this spring, he figures to draw some interest from around the league." He is 6 foot 6, 255, plays centerfield and bats righthanded. Oakland has had a loaded outfield so he never got much of a shot there. We will have to see if this changes how committed the Twins are to Jason Bartlett. I get that Gardenhire wants a versatile bench but I don't think many of us expect much of anything out of Bartlett this year. I think we could find a few at bats for this guy.
  19. It just scares me when we are talking about a bench of Presley, Hermann, Escobar and Pinto, with Pinto being the only one with a decent statline the last two years. I would hate to see Colabello not make it because of three catchers.
  20. I think the pitching will be better but it looks like to me the offense will be worse, possibly a lot worse.
  21. Morales supposedly turned down both a one year and a multi year offer from Seattle but they are probably trying to lowball him. It seems like both Drew and Morales have just about no interest in them at all right now. What a weird situation for two guys who both turned down $14 million one year deals months ago. I'm sure having Boras as your agent makes life interesting.
  22. The front office has to be feeling at least a little pressure to add offense either by a trade or a signing. You would think.
  23. With our almost non existent offense and Hermann now a possibility to take a roster spot going North, this would seem like a good time to sign Kendry Morales or Stephen Drew.
  24. Where is Clete at these days? He got a ton of at bats with the Twins last year.
  25. I didn't realize he wasn't even on Houston's 40 man anymore.
