  1. Wait a minute, a statistical formula disagrees with my own personal heuristic? The data must be inherently flawed!
  2. ^ Yeah, somebody plunked one off the batter's eye this afternoon.
  3. I convinced my GF that we should go see it! We were hoping it would come to Lagoon or Uptown in MPLS, but we'll make our way up to St. Anthony Main.
  4. While I find the idea of organized atheism a little silly, you could probably stand to chill out. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/12/leave-your-god-at-home-its-atheism-night-at-the-ballpark/
  5. I can't remember it exactly, but I'm pretty sure Ben was on the warning track when he caught it. So, a pretty easy tag on most arms.
  6. Yeah, he pulled an Air Jordan to grab Morneau's bases loaded line drive to save a couple runs.
  7. For all of the Twins griping, be glad that Prince Fielder didn't level your CATCHER.
  8. There were plenty. Ben's bat and feet made them duck out of this thread. =D
  9. I think we were all mesmerized by his month of April when he hit over 1.100 OPS. In May and June, he was well below .900. If he was able to show more April and less May and June, no doubt he would have been a serious contender for the ASG.
  10. How come this man is not an all-star!?
  11. That's the downside of hitting behind Morneau I guess.
  12. According to FSN a couple minutes ago.
  13. If you've ever cycled or walked along the Cedar Lake Trail, you have most likely noticed that it passes close to Target Field. In fact, the path follows directly under Target Field! However, the nearest exit to the field from CLT is a few blocks away on either side. I think it would be a nice way to reward fans who avoided clogging up the streets by having an entrance that leads to a gate from the path. It looks like there is a valet parking entrance just on the other side of the fence on the south side of Target Field. With some covered bike racks and a CCTV camera in place, you'd have a really nice way to slip into the ballpark!
  14. Yup. He looked pretty cheerful when talking about the extension.
  15. With runners on 1st and end, Dozier hit a ball that landed about 10ft from home plate wide of the 1st base line by at least 6 feet. The ball had so much spin on it that it sliced back fair about halfway up the base path. Dozier recognized it was going to be fair and beat out the throw. There was no one guarding home, so the runner on 2nd just ran all the way home.
  16. That RBI infield single by Dozier was the goofiest thing ever.
  17. Just got back to Minnesota and I considered jumping on the $8 student tickets. I'm glad I stayed home to watch it on TV. =)
  18. Of course, if he was playing LF, Rios wouldn't have got on base at all.
  19. Not to be "that guy", but Ben Revere is the same height as Kirby Puckett was. I don't see any reason why he couldn't develop the muscle and technique to drive the ball out now and then.
