  1. Dozier lead off double... Now Parm do the little things.. get him over to third.
  2. LOL.. If I had a nickel for every time I got the stuffing beat out of me... I'd have a nickel.
  3. If hits were runs... We got a lead!!! If Candy were nuts... The town of Hershey PA would look and feel different.
  4. Strikeout #8 in the past 3 days for Arciaki. Uggh.
  5. So I was hitchhiking through Japan last week. I was amazed by how short of time it took to get picked up. Turns out that they don't speak English... some other language that I didn't understand. With a clear communication problem... I ended up going wherever they were going. Hitchhiking takes much longer that way.
  6. Ethnic Insensitivity? Just some cultural references... If I said that Arcia was ****** **** enough. That would be insensitive.
  7. They all can't be Grade A... Sometimes Grade D and in between. Grade D is my middle name.
  8. If we call him Arciaki... Will that work? I think Arciaki will wear the Victory Kimono and Cherry Blossom tonight. After 7 strikeouts in the two days... I think he will be Samurai like with a strong rebound and short porch.
  9. I will settle for contact... If we F6 27 Times tonight. I will consider it good.
  10. One Size does not fit all. I think it's quite possible that some players don't respond to Andy or Gardy and may respond to others and Vice Versa. Some players can respond to everyone and some players can respond to nobody. You won't know until they are actually working together. If there was any reason to believe that Gardy or Andy ruin players at a decent frequency. They would have been gone a long time ago. The baseball people who run our club can at least handle basic evaluation.
  11. Being a Minnesotan shouldn't matter but it does to me. I like having local boys on the team. If he was from Lake Tahoe... I'd let the bidding war happen and take the best deal. Closers can be created when you give them the ball... And an elite closer on a struggling team is like having the Mona Lisa hanging in your garage next to the shelf that you keep your motor oil on. However... He's from Minnesota so I'm torn.
  12. I love Auto Correct... I'm not gonna correct the auto correct. The randomness of port sider becoming many things is interesting.
  13. Hicks is coming along nicely. His defense was a little shaky to start and is firming up to rock solid. Almost top of the class. His offense was "I don't belong here" bad to start and is now almost average. Hicks has the most complete impressive tool set of the 3. I don't worry about his D and If he can figure it out at the plate... We will forget about Revere and Span real quick. If he doesn't figure it out at the plate... Revere is the player of the 3 that I would choose to move forward into the future... in my opinion of course.
  14. Minnesota: SP Scott "Screech" Diamond 2B Dozier RF Parmelee C Mauer 1B Morneau DH Doumit 3B Plouffe LF Arcia CF Hicks SS Florimon New York: SP Hiroki "Pick a Nick Name" Kuroda CF Gardner RF Suzuki 2B Cano DH Wells LF Almonte 1B Overbay SS Nunez 3B Cruz C Stewart The Twins have lost 11 out of 12... Big Deal... I need new Windows in my house and I've been losing money on my heating and cooling bills as a result for years. That losing streak makes the Twins current streak look like a walk in the park. The Twins have plenty of left handed hitters to take a shot at the short RF porch and a right hander on the mound. Of course... Not striking out in double digits will help a bunch. Diamond the ports idea wil toe the rubber for the Twins.
  15. Colabello is taller and Ruiz was heavier. I also believe that they spell their names differently. On a more serious note. Randy Ruiz was tearing up AAA at age 30... He had a cup of coffee with the Twins and was released after 22 games. Hard to fault the Twins since he hit one home run in those 22 games. The Blue Jays picked him up for the next year... He tore up AAA again and was called up to the majors for another shot at age 31. For the Jays he hit 10 home runs in 115 at bats... Thats a dinger every 11.5 at bats... with a .313 batting average... OPS 1.019... And he was released by Toronto because I assume age matters more than production. If I was Randy Ruiz... While finishing my career in Mexico... I'd be thinking to myself... What else could I have done for those Blue Jays? I guess I could live with a Ruiz Comp right now.
  16. I still feel the same way I did last year. It's time for a change and time to honor him at the same time. I simply wouldn't throw him under any bus. Give the respect he has earned. Let him finish the season. Hopefully he'll get his 1,000 wins. He's been one of us for longer than anybody on the roster. That isn't lost on me.
  17. For anyone who has tried to do that and failed. It hurts... The only way it doesn't hurt... Is if you succeed.
  18. Billy Ripken is my choice. I admit I don't know a lot about who is a good manager and who is not... How can I. How can anyone not directly tied to the game. But Ripken would be my choice because I've heard him talk and he knows the game.
  19. Well... Ummm... (Thinking)... Ummm... Colabello?
  20. At least it wasn't 33 K's because that would be bad.
  21. I tried Smoking Salmon once... It Gunked up my Pipe.
