  1. I'm beginning to think... I'd prefer to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in my hands instead of making two trips.
  2. So... Who was thinking Pitchers Duel?
  3. Thats gonna Haunt me for at least 4 days.
  4. I've been reading Mock NFL drafts all night... There are a bunch of them... Hundreds. They all have the Vikings taking different people. I'm beginning to think these Mock Drafts are just guesses.
  5. Somehow he knew... Just stand right there and he will be on the Sportscenter Top Ten Plays.
  6. No Doubt... I'm think Gibson at SS... They are developing a combo.
  7. I heard John Gordon do that his first year in 1987.
  8. I know how you feel... Today I decided I'm not watching Three's Company re-runs anymore.
  9. I thought Colabello means in Lakota... "Looks Funny in Pants".
  10. The NFL Draft is Thursday... I wonder which QB the Vikings get.
  11. Its Monday... A day that is always lacking.
  12. Its 31 degrees at Palmer Station Antarctica today. 12 in Manitoba.
  13. Hey Look... The Indians have an extra CF.
  14. I tell her that all the time... And she laughs and laughs.
  15. Honeymoon Ideas... Chattanooga. Apart from location here's a great idea. Hire a few people to decorate every car driven to the parking lot by the people attending your wedding. And then have them stand guard over yours.
  16. When I was younger... It was a goal of mine to see every baseball stadium. So when it came time to plan the Honeymoon... I told my wife that baseball was part of the package. So we made it a baseball compromise... Niagara Falls and Baseball on the way and back. It was 24 years ago but... The trip was... Madison Wisconsin the 1st night... The Old Comiskey Park (they were building the new one across the street). 2nd Night South Bend... 3rd night Cleveland... No baseball... The Indians were not home... Just Dancing and Partying on the flats... Loved the bar hopping in Cleveland... 4th and 5th nights was Niagara Falls... 6th Night... Toronto.. Sky Dome 7th night... Detroit... The old Tiger Stadium 8th night... We made it home. So when people ask me where I spent my Honeymoon... I say Cleveland and then watch them struggle to reply to that.
  17. I think LaRussa invented that. He didn't like the pitcher hitting before the top of the lineup came back around. So he started putting his pitcher in the 8th spot. Leaving the ninth spot to a better hitter who had a better chance of getting on base for his better hitters to knock in. I honestly think Gardy should do that with Florimon... Move him to 8th so Dozier and Mauer have better chances of hitting with a base runner on.
  18. You are Absolutely Right... You Could Be Wrong!!! Florimon may be that guy... I won't say he is or isn't... Hitting .220 in the Majors does require some ability to hit a major league fastball. Florimon makes contact with the baseball 3 times out of 4. If we put Ashbury up at the plate... For example... He might hit like that 99.9 percent. I believe that if you can get around on a 100 MPH fastball and Florimon has... And if you can reach the seats... you can also reach every single corner of the ball park... The whole ball park is now your oyster and if you are not getting it done... It's in your approach. If he continues to try to hit what the pitchers want him to hit... He might as well be planning for his soon to be life out of baseball. And if he hasn't learned it by now... He just might not learn it. He may be too stubborn to change. Yogi was right... Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half is physical.
  19. If Florimon would simply decide that he's not a power hitter and start going with the pitch instead of grounding out weakly trying to pull something on the outside... Or chasing high fastballs out of the zone. You'd see that surprising change and see it quickly. I assume that hitting coaches have tried and it ain't sticking. He's 27... The Twins are trying to hand him a job and he ain't listening. It's on Pedro and when the Twins move on... It'll still be on Pedro.
  20. I do think his defense covers for SOME of his lack of hitting when his lack of hitting is at least over .200... I'm not signing him to 5 year 100 million deal but there is value in his D. It doesn't cover for what he is doing right now and he will be packing his fabulous glove and rocket arm into a suitcase and going back home to the Dominican Republic if he doesn't start going with the pitch. He's messed up.
  21. In consideration of fairness. If you look at Pedro's career numbers the past two years. 2012 BA .219 OPS .579 2013 BA .221 OPS .611 Now 2014 BA .113 OPS .352 His bat is struggling at a new level. It doesn't compare with what he did before. This ain't the same ball player. He's not a good hitter... But he's not been this bad. This isn't a "See I told you so moment"... If he was hitting .210... It would be a "See I told you so moment. On the other side of the coin... I've been a big proponent of Bonofacio... I'm not going to look at his 2014... BA .321 and OPS .761 and say "See I told you So". I wanted Bonofacio for the player he was... It wasn't because I thought he'd do what he's done this April and I supported Florimon for the player he was. This ain't that Florimon. He's messed up and I don't think we should play him until he un-messes.
  22. Yeah but... We broke camp with Hicks as the starter (which was questionable after Hicks 2013). And Bartlett as the backup (which was just plain questionable). Shedding Presley which was questionable and we were fortunate that Fuld became available or else it's Clete Thomas ilk again. Personally... I'm not looking for a backup or a backup to the backup... I'm looking for a starter. I was driving down 1st street... I hit this huge pothole... The sound was loud... The car shook... I worried that I wrecked my car... A week later I was driving down the same street... Same pothole... I swerved to avoid it. I'm looking for an indication that the powers that be... noticed... that Clete Thomas played 92 games in 2013.
