    About a month ago... I was driving home and rolling by my wife's parents place on the way. They live about an hour away. Anyway... My wife wanted me to stop and pick up an old photo that she needed... You know since I was rolling through... that way nobody had to make an hour trip just to pick up the photo. So I'm driving along... Just being me. and I totally forget to stop... Not only did I forget... I didn't recall for the entire hour on the drive home. So... I was completely unprepared when I walked in the door and my wife immediately asked me. Did you get the picture? You get that immediate OMG... I really screwed up feeling when she jogs your memory like that. So... I paused and said... No... Umm... No I didn't... would you settle for a thousand words. To finish the story... She didn't think my thousand words joke was funny at all.

    Thanks Bark... Really Good Friends... They've watched my kids grow up and I have watched theirs. Tiger Fan??? Never!!!

    Calling a Mauer Home Run... Only Works about once every 60 At-bats. I made up that 60 at-bats thing... I don't feel like looking up the exact percentage.

    Big Thank You to ChiTown!!! I had to call her this morning... (Probably woke her up... cuz she sleeps til Noon)... and let her know that I was absolutely slammed. It was such an odd day today. It was my final day at work after 24 years. I've been working hard to get ready for my departure. Thought I had it under control but I didn't plan on one thing... It's Memorial Day weekend. This meant that people were leaving early for the weekend so basically people were leaving at different times throughout the day. This meant that they were stopping by for hugs and that last conversation with me. It started at 9am and it was just a steady stream until 3PM... when the building basically emptied and there I was with just a couple of stragglers on my final day and I was able to finish up. Don't me wrong... I appreciated every moment... There were tears and valuable words of encouragement and the best well wishes I could have ever gotten... but it certainly knocked everything that I had left to do backwards by hours and I soon realized that I would have no time to do that last game thread open before my Baseball World Tour. I didn't plan on that and I should have... So... Big Thank You to ChiTown for saving me... She Rocks!!!

    Season Predictions... I'm still not comfortable yet. I want to see how they handle a losing spell. All teams have losing spells and I want to see how they handle it. Right now... I'll just say that I'm loving what they are doing right now and it's fun to be optimistic this late in the season. As for Plouffe... I'm telling the world that I am officially off of his back. Two Years ago... I didn't like his defensive engagement and the out of zone chasing at the plate. Last year and what I've seen this year... Plouffe has fixed many problems and I now consider him a defensive plus for the team with enough bat to be a plus as well. He's helping us win games. You won't hear me complain about Plouffe anymore. Unless he goes back to the slacking off like he did a couple of years ago.
