  1. Not to try to slow your momentum... When that soapbox is all out and stuff But if you look at Buxton's Game Log. Hes pretty active. His lack of AB's is easily explained by: Time in AAA Being injured for stretches and consistently batting 9th.
  2. It's the same thing that I think when someone hands me Ice Cream!!!
  3. Bradley is exactly who Buxton should be watching right now. Bradley looked just like Buxton does now. Upper Cut Swing... no contact and trying to pull everything. Bradley leveled his swing out... and Surprise... Boston has a ball player.
  4. They do all the time Any Mosquito that is sucking on a mouse or rat when the snake swallows it.
  5. With Polanco at SS today and Sano at 3B. I'm almost 100% certain that Buxton is heading down to Rochester.
  6. That's just like offering me Ice Cream!!! I'm gonna smile and say Thank You!!!
  7. That was Sano saying "don't send me down".
  8. You forgot to mention that he has hit .360 during that stretch.
  9. Pitching... If they can acquire pitching... It will determine if they have a shot in 2017. I'd like them to think outside the box and try get lucky with a Pomeranz type find. Take a bullpen guy with a good K/9 and see if you can stretch him into a starter. Give May or Rogers a shot Or Trade for: Shawn Kelley Vidal Nuno Derek Law Luke Hochevar TYler Thornburg See if one of those guys can handle a starting role. Think outside the box when it comes to pitching.
  10. I disagree If he was aiming for the mound... I consider that very impressive!!!
  11. Vargas was running toward the cut position. It appears that Vargas may have been delayed for some reason.
  12. Yeah That's what I meant. Some players know what happening and don't want to get out of the car when they see it pull up to Molly's Office.
  13. I like the way that Molitor has been moving the lineup around lately. As long as nobody gets put to sleep... I'm Ok with it. If Molitor decides to hand Buxton a pillow... then he should be sent down.
  14. The truth is probably somewhere between my under rating and your "should get you 20 homers" but has only done that a couple of times rating.
  15. Exactly I would love it if the Manager would have to pull his hair out trying to make decisions because he had actual MLB legitimate options.
  16. I agree 100 Percent. I don't think you should sacrifice defense at SS or Catcher and I'm not comfortable sacrificing it in CF either. But I'd like to add that I haven't personally seen Polanco actually be inadequate at SS yet. I suppose I could rely on the Twins scouting department for that assessment but I'm not feeling that charitable after watching the assessments they have made. I would also like to add... and with no intended disrespect to Eduardo Escobar. It's not like Escobar is the Kansas City Escobar at SS. In a nutshell... At this point... I'm not sure how much SS Defense we are sacrificing from Escobar or Nunez to Polanco. Anyway... The real point I was making was this... I strongly disagree with the notion that Polanco can only play 2B and Dozier must be traded so Polanco can play.
  17. I honestly don't understand what Straw Man Arguments mean anymore. It's my opinion and I'm not really arguing. Anyway... I'm trying to remember the games that he played in the OF. If Memory serves... He was horrible at SS and therefore moved to the OF because he couldn't play SS. He played about 20 or 30 games and then Valencia was horrible at 3B and Plouffe was moved to 3B and then I remember Plouffe being horrible at 3B until he got... OK at it.
  18. You may be right. I know that I'm not suggesting that he will become Heyward-esque. He certainly wouldn't be the first slow OF. But... I do believe that if he finds a starting 3B gig next year... he won't have a starting gig for long because if he doesn't hit enough for a corner OF... He doesn't hit enough for 3B either. However... If he could play 3B, 1B and OF... He now has more options and therefore more chances of finding a gig. I'd give it a shot and if it doesn't work... Stop.
  19. I disagree.. respectfully of course... but I do disagree. I'm personally tired of the old school logic. Dozier is best at 2B and Polanco is best at 2B so therefore we are stuck with no place to go... Polanco must wait for Dozier to get hurt or... we must trade Dozier. If you want to maximize value... increase your options. Dozier has value to any club that needs a 2B... He has much less value to the teams that don't need a 2B. If Dozier could also play a decent 3B (I think he could)... Well now Dozier has increased his value because now he has value to teams that need a 2B and teams that need a 3B. Same thing for Polanco. Joe Maddon has blown this old school thinking out of the water. He gets his best players in the lineup and he moves them around to get it done. He's been in Chicago for two years so it's not like the Cubs were prepping for this as the players came up through the system. Bryant plays nothing but 3B in the minors until Maddon gets a hold of him and he lets him play 3B and OF. Wilson Contreras... Merely a Cather... No... A little OF... A little 1B... Schwarber a great hitting Catcher who isn't that great of Catcher... moved to the OF because the Cubs are just better this way. No room for Baez because they have Zobrist, Russel and Bryant... So they must trade Baez... That what everybody in the world says... Nope... He's good and they want to keep him... so they jerk him wherever they need to get him some at-bats and it goes just fine. The Cardinals have also been fearless when it comes to moving players around. Carpenter wherever he is needed. Wong at 2B and then into the OF. They trade for 2B Gyorko and they already had Wong and they play Gyorko all over the infield to make it work. Diaz gets the job done at SS while Peralta is on the DL and when Peralta gets back... he moves to 3B to accommodate. The Rangers have adopted this new thinking as well. They didn't say... We got Andrus... We don't need Desmond... They sign him and move him to LF and then to CF. Where is Desmond today if the Rangers didn't think outside the box? Who Knows... Nobody was offering him a SS job. Profar comes up and gets hot while Odor is suspended. They don't send him down when Odor returns... they play him wherever they can... 1B-2B-3B-SS-LF. The Astros call up Bregman even with Correa blocking him. Everybody speculating that they must trade Bregman for Pitching and they don't trade him and they need pitching... They believe in him and they keep him... they play him at 3B and plan to move him to LF because they still went ahead and signed a Cuban 3B supposed superstar. Yep... They purposely created a log jam. The Dodgers move the Veteran 2B Kendrick to wherever he is needed. The Nationals... Trea Turner... Was blocked by something called Espinoza. Boom... into CF he goes because Revere and Taylor wasn't working. None of this jerking around is killing these clubs... and it's not killing the players either.. Not trying these moves is what kills the players because they are forced to stagnate behind another player. For every Sano and Hanley Ramirez horror show... There are 10 examples of it working. Jorge Polanco can move to where he is needed so we can get his bat in the lineup and it won't kill him. It will only help him because now he can actually play. I believe this... I truly do.
  20. I agree
  21. I'd like to see him get his major league swings but I was pointing out some pretty severe contradictions that shows he's got a ways to go and I seriously question his breaking camp as the guy because of this. I think the Twins should have known better
  22. I'll say it again... If I am Trevor Plouffe... I am begging for an immediate chance to play OF. Hes a serious non tender candidate and his production has never been strong enough to lock down a 3B job. He will be consistently threatened by youth and trade upgrades for the rest of his career. He needs position options to give him a fighting chance at survival. If I'm Trevor Plouffe... I'm begging for OF work immediately. If I'm the Twins... I agree to his request immediately... He starts in the OF tonight and stays for the max. When Plouffe is called up... Buxton goes down. Plouffe isn't given a starting job... He is rotated like everyone else should be. If he gets hot you can roll with him awhile like you should do with everyone else. If he hits a little and proves he can catch a fly ball. Trevor has helped his career and improved his trade value by increasing the trade possibilities. Problem solved.
