  1. Molitor has to tell the pitchers that he is in charge.
  2. We simply have no idea how insubordinate Doug M may have been to new ideas brought by the new regime. I have no idea obviously but that would be the first place I’d look when trying to figure out why he was let go. There was a change and some people don’t change and some people tell everybody around them that they are not going to change.
  3. I’m having trust issues with the clubs ability to identify the difference between prospect and non prospect.
  4. I have no idea what structural changes were made and I have no idea what structural changes will be made going forward. But I’m pretty sure that If anyone was expecting a sudden shift in direction, you were nearly certain to be disappointed. Things rarely change on a dime when an existing staff experiences a change of leadership and you have to get rid of any notion that Terry Ryan or Thad Lavine make decisions by themselves in a vacuum. I’ve never witnessed it personally but I’m willing to bet any amount of money that Terry Ryan-Falvey/Lavine -All GMs have authorized the signing of players sight unseen by themselves on the recommendation of their staff. It is hard to say who the advocate for Belisle was. Whoever it was... if it works like it is supposed to. His future recommendations will carry less weight.
  5. Who knows what kind of emotional wrecks we have on our payroll. There are emotional wrecks all around us every day. We all know people capable of losing sleep because someone took the last cup of coffee a couple of days ago. However... logically. Do we want players who are so fragile that they wilt at the loss of a coach or the mood of the disgruntled? You’d have no chance unless everything was perfect on and off the field.
  6. Personally... I’m not sure. I’ve seen Garver catch some nice pitching performances so I don’t think he is catastrophic in that regard. However... in this environment... dying for a hit and not dying on the mound. Playing Wilson over Garver seems like treating the heart attack victim with a nose job.
  7. I know that I've been having a love affair with the Brewers roster but... even though the Brewers offense hasn't been off the charts this year... They are built for games like this. They can scratch out a run with a home run or they can do it with their feet small ball style... Plus.. Killer defense and bullpen that can shut you down. Win and Losses are mattering less and less for me. I'm just hoping for a spark of something that can lead to a spark of something in 2019 at the moment.
  8. We could use some offense for 2019. It will be a challenge to fill all the open spots via Free Agency. Gonna have to acquire some decent talent via trade.
  9. And cost 5.4 million dollars less.
  10. They missed a 4 foot putt on 18 to be 10 games worse.
  11. Yeah Along with power, speed, defense, depth and farm help a phone call away... all inside a 98 million dollar payroll. This Stearn guy is a GM who can GM.
  12. Josh Hader threw three innings. I've said that every team should be trying to acquire or at least creating their own version of Andrew Miller. The Brewers have created one.
  13. This is one of the reasons why I've been saying that the front office pulled the plug. Sano to single A is one example of pulling the plug. Sending Romero down instead of Odorizzi is another example of pulling the plug Buxton doing an extended stay in Rochester is another example of pulling the plug. Falvey or Lavine can be quoted about waiting and seeing before making an official declaration of pulling the plug. It doesn't matter... they have visibly pulled the plug by their actions.
  14. What I want to know is: How much influence does Paul have when it comes to the 25 man roster? The answer to that question will determine how much blame I place on Molitor.
  15. I'm sure it is much more complicated than I'm about to express... I get that the lights came on in 1988 but Wrigley has been a baseball stadium since 1914. Home buyers are choosing to live near Wrigley Field and still dictating terms of it's operation? This isn't city council forcing a landfill or prison into the neighborhood. This would be the equivalent of residents moving next to the landfill and demanding that it be less of a landfill. I sit here quite some distance from Chicago but it is my understanding that home prices around Wrigley are 22% higher, therefore home buyers are paying more to live near Wrigley. If the night games are keeping them awake... Move away from Wrigley. Take that 22% and put in your pocket.
  16. I have no opinion on that. It was attrition on steroids. I could barely watch it and I got pretty good stamina. It's possible that Molitor was just saying the hell with it.
  17. I watched it. The leadoff walk on 4 pitches was disappointing and the Happ double in the next AB was laced pretty good. After that... the Cubs lightly found some green. The Baez double should have been an error. Adrianaza was to heat exhausted (I assume) to move his feet about a foot to his left. I'm giving Adrianaza a break because of the heat... If it was a normal 80 degree day... I'd be shouting for his benching. It should have been an 6-2-3 DP.
  18. It's not Injuries. https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-disabled-list-tracker/ There are teams in contention that have had worse injury luck than we have. After you look at the offensive production of Buxton, Castro and Sano. It could be successfully argued that 3 of the DL Stints actually improved the team. It has been without question, the poor performance of the healthy.
  19. I've never seen anything like that. The umpires looked exhausted. The fans looked exhausted. It was like watching a debate after all the debaters have used up all of the words they know and are left with blowing raspberries at each other.
  20. Some people can play baseball at a level unattainable by very very very few. Some people have artistic creativity, write, perform and they take the time and effort to complete projects and share them. Then there are other people who do none of those things who take cheap shots at them.
  21. I appreciate the non-conventional approach. I hope the Twins follow this up with a life coach for a while. And finally... I believe with all of my heart that Sano will not feel like a bust when he stops swinging at crap.
