  1. Yeah. When fans run a 40 for a foul ball, tradition and mafia-esque loyalty are on thin ice.
  2. Not enough drunken hecklers yet. Give it until late June.
  3. You're missing the big picture. Professional at bat.
  4. Exactly. Record it and youtube it. Time capsule material.
  5. Wish chia would grow me one too. http://www.medpagetoday.com/images/blogMedia/celebritydiagnosis/Obama-Chia-Pet.jpg
  6. Depends. How well did Wilson's prison manager in 'Oz' get him ready to face the bunt?
  7. HAIR! Don't forget about the HAIR! A franchise can be built around spectacular HAIR! http://www.achievement.org/achievers/erv0/large/erv0-035.jpg
  8. Did he look like he would rather be having a prostate exam? He performed a song list that seemed designed to simultaneously offend dedicated fans and disappoint the casual ones. Don't remember him speaking to the audience. Encore fail, no doubt due to lukewarm applause.
  9. There's a movie that asks that very same question.... http://www.serienjunkies.ch/fotos/top-5-855/platz-3-falling-down-ein-ganz-normaler-tag-1993-9145.jpg
  10. Intermission music before walkup was Van Morrison's 'Wild Night". Reminds me that his show at the U of M's Northrop was not only the worst live music show I've ever seen, it actually made me pursue a refund. And VF's 'Blister in the Sun' shows up in the walkup for... I don't know, Escobar, Florimon, insert random AAAA name here...
  11. Almost completely depends on offensive counting stat outcome. Zero sarcasm, btw. That being said, he is a good defensive 2B.
  12. Eleven walks for the 'Aim at their bats' pitching staff. Dozier on his way from 'poor man's Knoblauch' to 'affordable Knoblauch Light'.
  13. Yes. Had briefly considered calling their defense 'dodgey', but didn't want some Zuckerberg savant to make the mouse come alive and strangle me.
  14. Reserving judgement until his Kills of birds per Nine isn't such a small sample. http://i41.tinypic.com/348oawl.jpg
  15. Great call. About Uribe too. And he's not hung around because of the lefty-crushing savant skill that is what usually allows fringe RHB utility corner IF's to hang around into their mid-30's. Instead, he has one of the most amazingly neutral platoon splits for a player of his career arc that I've ever seen.
  16. Steely Dan can gargle my ba... oops. Not even for a game thread. http://www.twinsdaily.com/image/jpeg;base64,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%20Oyy2ITNNdrJdqedQBvuCdgh%20IyiN%207XP8we/B/myo18WK3IbjTj0NQ5wqXTONmhoJ9NxuB7EtNv%20o/h2cInOjjnuyR%20wJHp4JFz0uFgTTkUxMjjGWt2/wBvYKvUlowxwIcXGxBvcWuDsfujS48JaNSrTHGYw5l2kEe4VSamS3ytneSmqSyQF7DbY8tHS33TWbZ9I144c0Efup1tMqnsVlBxAcsHqURGWD1LhDyYDNNCsTnWpd%20qGMc7S2MBwHQ6hz9wQmHSRpP%20INWP1lI8ahazb9287e26Lw12sD0rYOpBNPjRbG3VIXFrBzY9/YWTGj8JXGgGuZoeBsA3Ye%2069PBzDx/QTK4DXJI43sLi234CY3maeS3fuqedjngi8xZFqo4XN0at/m33Cw%20IUlRHThkoIay9h7XX1LK3XESRb62SyzrgQcHvJabjgW2XKbT2b6qS/RMwy/HG9x35Tj8NsRdNgTmO38ogN99JHBSgqW%20VWuDW3byQmH4Nv1YrUb2Ohvo6W33WeVHtU2KWLRvJofWuVenh9aii5FAjRtSo8VsOEeZgQf7rQ61tgRsd%20vRNikOyo5wy0yrwq5vrj3bbr2I6onGs/nZljFfoCydSSQ%20G0Vmuc52pzgDYjU4nn2A/Cr4ZW1TczFgg1Na4AuJv8w1XBPIHF1tsn7Zbiaf8Whp/bZFRRRxyEtaA49bKwlnY73xowXiFmieEtgjj1OlaLW7myVr/ADRJ8Rj2uc5zR6ncjc7Hngp245ABmWOR2ksLdBvb0991Wx7DaWKmdNoZqAJBPT6Lu2AkV4fOuLtc3ELEbi90yPA%20BpnqHOB8waW9g32%2091gscf5uMuLfmJs0DklxsAnvkLLJo8rMEgAle1pktze3BPVY5c1GrH2JW6YRmZ8RRd5j8RRRRU7UkiLQSbLO0c6L086y0aizyjqfLxh7ehN/vv8AyvKvr4aqgkiLnt9QBLSWuBG4sQhWc6t0FTFMAbHZ/wBBwvbD8eY/DfS9rO9uvdV6pPoslOCUopi5zlhs4xpshqDoaRpF3bgG/qK9sbzM6bL17OA2b13%20iMY8AXHXUBzQL7jcrC4viuuLSPlbx3TCw8BZPCN/4NYM3%20mzzyNa4vkDWkgGwaN7fumBUv2QXJBibk6FsRabNGuxvZ53dfur9TPspF8nKxkuyWWynPJ61FTnn%20Ioh4FyrSTm6O4U7XUAHhRRFrinJZDVJSWWTG4BLXvjeLt8toA6DlK7Eqc0%20KuiY5xaN9/wuFFT%20WCvVFNJA/EWF0dy47DhVKSga5mo/ZRRbbx4GjCLezjJmYpKXPbmMN2TOs9p47EexTgqag2UUSnMiuyZKnFdgTNKdaiiiSEz/9k= PS. Actually a fan of their music. PS2. Ricky don't lose that xFip, 'cause it's not on Ant's PC... Shortened Antony to Ant to fit the phrasing of the song. Oh, that's right, rule of comedy: if you have to explain, humor fail.
  17. Someone else will have a catchier idea, but after this series the walkup music that plays in my mind for Puig will probably always be the Violent Femmes' .
  18. Who are you again? Yeah, sometimes I wonder if he's going down the Harry Caray/Pat Summerall road. Or former NFL great and broadcasting black belt Drunken Master Paul Hornung, who once gave me a faint buzz by speaking a single sentence to me at close range in the Metrodome employee entrance, three hours before game time.
  19. Autographed two Souvenir Soda cups and a cast too. Only showed up in the slo-mo replay.
  20. He's gonna fit right in... In related news, Andrew Albers just set the new world land speed record for transition from Flavor of the Month to being referenced by Bert as "that lefty who went to Korea".
  21. ... , who was once complimented by Dick for his improving plate discipline in an at bat where he ran into the stands to swing at a wild pitch.
  22. Or like a large, furless Warner Bros. Tazmanian Baseball Devil- capable of amazing feats, wanton destruction, and absurd hilarity. All at once sometimes.
  23. Not certain I heard right because I had just turned on the postgame, but I'm pretty sure Roy Smalley complimented Puig on being a "very fundamentally sound ballplayer" this afternoon. That's funny, even before tonight he had seemed to me the most contrasting mix of immense raw talent and awful fundamentals that I had seen in the last several years.
