  1. Who is replacing Butera on the 40-man?
  2. What about Nick Kingham? He looks like that high strikeout pitcher that we're starting to add to the system.
  3. So, Drew Butera? Looks like he might be a good FA target for next year. Since he's only 27, he could be someone that could stick around for a couple years if the price is right.
  4. MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that the Yankees are aggressively pursuing a deal for Phil Hughes. Yankees Aggressively Pushing Chamberlain, Hughes: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com What would it take for the Twins to make a deal for Hughes? Or does his salary preclude any consideration whatsoever? Maybe it's a case of tunnel vision, but his strikeout rate and WHIP would be an upgrade over anyone currently in the rotation.
  5. What if Arcia goes all Wilson Ramos during the Angels series? Can you justify sending him down with your starting CF hitting right around Courtney James' and Antoine Broxsie's combined GPA? If Arcia shows a glimmer of his AAA stats, it's time to give the Mastro a good shin guard and let him roam CF for at least the next couple months, while Hicks builds his confidence in AAA. So where do you put Arcia, you might ask? I'm thinking as a DH/RF platoon with Parmelee as Doumit is hitting about as well as a Drew Butera/Matt Walbeck love child. Granted, this is all speculation akin to the golf course I would buy if I won the Powerball, but it doesn't make it any less fun to think about. As fans, we need something to keep us interested in what most accept as a rebuilding year. And if Arcia can light up the Angels, it just might be the fur coat on Kate Upton us fans need to keep warm this sprinter...

  7. Two of three from the Tigers! Well done!
  8. 1-2 to Hunter....just throw it in the dirt!
  9. Is it a Twins rule that Rule 5 pitchers that make the team out of Spring Training get #57? Or did it just work out so well the last time that they thought it might be a good omen for Pressly?
  10. Are we going to get a Rule 5 Ryan appearance in the 9th?
  11. The way this inning is trending.....I predict 3-run jack by Hicks.
  12. I always thought Carroll looked a little more like Dinklage.... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x143/buckninetyone/jameycarroll.jpghttp://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.5016411065550288&pid=1.7&w=176&h=150&c=7&rs=1
  13. Hunter strikes out on three pitches with runners in scoring position....ahhh, memories! Was strike three in the dirt???
  14. What's with Tigers lead-off hitters being absolute Twin-killers?? I'm having Curtis Granderson flashbacks here....
  15. Big chance for Parmelee to kickstart his season. If they had brought in a LH, I have to wonder if they would have gone to Wilkin Ramirez.
  16. http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4716734023731687&pid=1.7&w=102&h=140&c=7&rs=1TUIASOSOPO!!!!!!!!!
  17. Wouldn't mind seeing The Mastro get a start in CF, just to give Hicks a breather since he's clearly pressing.
  18. It looks like the Indians have informed Dice-K that he will not make the big club. Is he someone worth rolling the dice on? (pun completely intended) He can't be worse than Correia, or most of our relievers this spring.....
  19. I'm ok with this....as long as he's the 5th starter. Hopefully there's one more starter on the horizon.
  20. If the Twins are smart, they'll have Alex Meyer undergo Tommy John surgery tonight...
  21. I think Bonnes has been spending too much time with Cory Cove....a "C" prospect???
  22. How could you call Meyer a "C" prospect, the guy hits 98 MPH as a starter and looks to have 3 plus pitches (not to mention size, good minor league results etc)? He was widely considered the 2nd best prospect heading into 2013 of the Nats farm class. Meyer is clearly the best pitching prospect the Twins have and ranks somewhere between Hicks and Arcia but ahead of Rosario and Gibson, you wouldn't call those guys C prospects right?? Not to get all "Deadspin" on you Dave, but +1. How is a team's #2/#3 prospect be considered a "C" prospect???
  23. ....And we all know that Bill Smith would have traded him for Kurt Suzuki, so I think we did ok here.
