  1. That is hard to believe. Do you mean to tell me our whiz kid FO missed a chance to screw another player out of their major league service time??? You Slippin Derek!
  2. We could never get what he's worth in a trade right now because I don't think we even know. I would like him to get 500 at bats in a year just once and then we can talk. They will not extend him unless he shows a minor degree of consistency.
  3. It was a white flag surrender, we are ill prepared, we arent in your league statement and i absolutely hate it.
  4. I can and I will. If they make anymore ill prepared moves like this with their pitching staff i will add it to my long list of 2018 fu¢* ups and i will have plenty of evidence.
  5. Fine then who would have lined up to pitch game two of the doubleheader in Baltimore last Saturday night? Yes what a monumental coup that was. RP sure would look good in our bullpen about now.
  6. Fine then who would have lined up to pitch game two of the doubleheader in Baltimore last Saturday night?
  7. Im not disagreeing with you but when did you hear Verlander dislikes us? That is news to me. Where can i read more about this?
  8. No thats not true Berrios would pitch Saturday, Perez Sunday, Gibson, Monday, Odorizzi Tuesday and Pineda Thursday. Berrios would be in line to face Baltimore Friday and Houston Wednesday at home. The AAA guy would have a way better chance to win in game two of a d.h. in Baltimore than against VERLANDER. I could have told you Verlander was on line to start last night 10 days ago.
  9. It was a throw away game...they quit before they started. If this is the new era I am not a fan. To say there was nothing they could do is a cop out. Whatever happened to foresight. They announced the roster moves AFTER last nights game. Does that mean they could have done that last Friday and started a AAA guy against Baltimore in one of the double header games. For a management team that never wastes an opportunity to tell us how prepared they are then WHAT HAPPENED? Weak, bush league, and Lame. Why don't we just crown the Astros now? Apparently our leaders dont think we can compete with them.
  10. One win would have been ok if we hadn't won game #1. I still cant understand why we basically gave them game #3 with a AAA pitcher and our absolute B lineup. Christmas comes early for the Astros. Are you kidding me? With an off day tomorrow you played this game like a Spring Training game. Hello!!! Hey Rocco, Thad, Derek...These games matter man...This was very disappointing. Bad call by management. Is this what we can expect all year? I sure hope not. I saw Enough of this stuff last September. I sure hope we don't decide to crown the Stros next week at home.
  11. He's gonna have to win his job back. Maybe he can pitch out of the bullpen. Be like a pseudo Ohteni dude. One of the catchers with options better not mess up. Adrianza walkin on real thin ice too.
  12. that all sounds great. I am wondering if he is just having trouble adjusting to the new approach. I guess they are trying to have him buy into the philosophy of tunneling. (delivering the ball on the same plane so that the hitter cant recognize the pitch until much later)
  13. It could have been worse, but I still am not sure I understand why we had to throw Stewart out there tonight. Wouldn't it have made more sense to push everybody up a day and bring a AAA dude to start in one of the double header games last Saturday? This reminded me of last year at the end of the year when you knew we had no chance. All these games count man....come on. Everyone could look ahead and see it was gonna be Verlander tonight. I'm sorry Kohl Stewart, I know he gave it all he had but our coavhing staff basically handed this game to the Stros. Let me see some competency in the handling of the pitching staff. THIS makes us look ill prepared, and definitely not ready to be a playoff team.
  14. Wasn't it kind of obvious to everyone that Cave would have to be the first to go? As one of the guys with options I would imagine he will get a lot of frequent flyer miles between home and Rochester this summer.o
  15. I know my post got a little long winded earlier but the more I reminisce the more i cant leave out a few names that some of you may remember. Jerry Koosman...I never knew he was a native Minnesotan until he came back home to play. On that note, Geoff Zahn, Craig Kusick, Gary Ward. One that gets too often overlooked, Greg Gagne. Shane Mack, Chili Davis(whom I believe is still a major league hitting coach somewhere) Brian Harper, how about Al Newman. I could never forget Brad Radke, Jacques Jones, and Matt Lawton(remember Torii's Soul Patrol outfield?) how about Christian Guzman? Corey Koskie....those 2000-2002 teams had such a great Heart!
  16. True that, he's just odd man out and a loser in the option game.
  17. Im not sure Cruz has Ever played first in his career......just saying. Garver or Kepler for sure can though.
  18. I still believe in him....back when we needed him to start he put together quite a few quality ones. Since then he's looked confused. The reason he's still around is because the FO must like what they see when he follows their advice.
  19. Cool. My first game was my 6th birthday party in 1970. It was organized by my mom. I was allowed to invite 5 friends from my kindergarten class to go to Met Stadium and watch the Twins play the Senators. I was soon in love with baseball and especially the Twins. My favorite players to start were Tovar, Carew, Jim Perry, and Jim Nettles. Later on when I started little league Carew kind of took over as i was a second baseman. Throughout my youth I used to love Carew, Hisle, Mike Marshall, Dave Goltz, Lyman Bostock, Wynegar, Smalley, Castino, even Ken Landreaux. Moving away from home i wasnt as close to the 87 team as I wished but of course Puckett and Hrbek were my favorites. For 91 I WAS HOME. WHAT A GREAT TEAM IT WAS.... i was intrigued by the facts that in 88, and 92 i thought we had better teams but couldn't even make the playoffs. I was in California for all the contraction talk and picked up my love for the Twins forever. I could not listen to or watch an A's or Giant's game without missing my Twins.... I've seen em play in Oakland, Anaheim, Phoenix, Seattle, and in May of 2010 spent 10 days back home seeing Target Field for the first time. Texas and the A's were the opponents. I've always liked Cuddyer, Hunter, Nathan, Santana, and my all time favorite is Mauer. I have a soft spot for Escobar(because of the hilarious name your teammate videos) but I can see him any time as i now work in guest relations at Chase Field. My favorite team...wow..right now 2019...ever...2006. The way they fought all year going 70-30 to win the division on the last day was unbelievable. wow!
  20. I didn't catch why we are starting Stewart tomorrow? That seems like raising a red flag to me. Is it a trickle down effect from the double header Saturday? Gosh it seems a little early for nobody to pitch on 3 days rest. Im assuming the one they are protecting is Berrios? Whoever was supposed to go on Friday i guess is who is being bumped up.
  21. you're right. but you'd have to read the whole conversation before you try to make someone look like they don't know what they are talking about. What a great win by the Twins though right?
  22. I can't resist one more..... Without Marwin, we don't have rings on our finger and that championship here in Houston," outfielder Josh Reddick said. "We can all be grateful and thankful for what Marwin did for this organization." I agree he's had a rough start but where would we be without him? Giving full time at bats to Adrianza at third base? we'll never have to find out as long as the W's keep piling up.
